Re: Ron Greenwood and England
Back to Gerrards comments, it’s was probably only the English press that was calling them the golden generation, the rest of the world were to busy practicing their skills, we probably never won owt because we were just not good enough.

Bet mr Neville is hating watching England, all those middle aged white Englishmen waving the national flag, absolutely disgusting, hope the telly gaffers pull the plug on the game as it’s to nationalist.

Re: Arsenal vs West Ham | PL | 4.10.25 | Predictions and Match Thread
Dioufs like the majority of fullbacks nowadays, very good at going forward but a lot of questions over his defensive abilities, even Trent has his doubters, Madrid didn’t buy him for his defensive qualities. It’s fine if your playing for someone like Liverpool, Man City who will have the majority o...

Over the last ten thousand years human kind has had many Gods, they cannot all be the real deal but, each group thinks theirs is.

Reading JLC Goddard post, just think how cheap we could have got Kilman for before he became the world’s best defender!!!

Re: Potter Out
I don’t particularly put all the blame on Potter, although he doesn’t seem to help himself at times, but the whole club from top to bottom must be absolutely dire. Look at clubs like Brentford, Brighton, Palace,Bournemouth and Fulham, they can all compete and are all classed as stable premiership cl...

Re: Welcome Mads Hermansen!
Didn’t any of the scouts etc actually notice how shit he is at corners, afraid whipping corners into the six yard box is the new tactic, and now everyone in the premiership knows how crap we are at defending them.

Re: Grimsby fined for fielding an ineligible player in win over Man Utd
To be honest I think the said player was a Manure spy, although he was registered 2 minutes late, when it came to the penalty shootout he was the only Grimsby player to actually miss, in mitigation Grimsby did flag this error up to the league themselves.

Re: Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread
I’m not 100% on this but I think if English clubs transfer between themselves then a bigger amount of the fee has to be paid upfront, whereas if it’s from a foreign league then the fee can be spread over more years, maybe this is why clubs seem to want to bring in from abroad rather then the champio...

Re: Pre-Season Tactics Breakdown
Same in the way Pep ruined Grealish, the thing is he went to City due to his Villa performances, then Pep completely changed him, slow, always passing back, not taking on his defender, now he’s not good enough for City and looks like he’s moving. Granted his trophy cabinet must look quite good.

Even if it were true, the big boys have stopped any new super rich person from just splashing his cash to achieve success, just look at Newcastle, they have one of the richest people on the planet but he’s not allowed to spend.

First time I seen any women’s football, don’t really think I’ve missed owt. It’s a very basic game with a lot of long balls and getting the ball into the penalty area at every opportunity, the lasses have to be fit though play this way, reminds me of division 4 football from 30 years ago, can quite ...

Re: Can clubs legally prevent their players from being called up for international duty?
Sir Alex basically controlled when and where his international players played, they developed serious injuries on a Monday, hence unavailable for the international, that miraculously healed itself by Saturday, unless 5hey were Scottish, they never seemed to be injured. I believe that after this happe...

Just watched about 15 minutes of the current game, Poland v Sweden, and I can quite see they do not have the physicality of men but I’m afraid I would not even rate the skilful side of the game as county level of the men’s game.
