Re: The Official Politics Thread (enter at your own risk)

Of course Starmer Sunak Truss Johnson & Cameron … probably the worst 5 PM’s in living memory.  This government has been as dithering & incompetent as the last Starmer is supposed to be a Kings Counsel so you’d expect some charisma & eloquence but he is a gibbering confused mess Reeves is...

Re: The Ashes.

Unusual not to know the Australian batting line up a week out from a Test Suspect they will go Khawaja Wetherald Labuschagne Smith Head Green Carey Starc  Dogget Lyon Boland Very harsh on Beau Webster who made 78 today & took 5 wickets last week. Alternative is Labuschagne opening instead of Wet...

Re: The Ashes.

His grandparents on his mothers side were from Calabria & migrated to Australia after the war
His state career was over so he decided to qualify for Italy as a tribute to his brother who had recently died
For an Italian team to qualify for a cricket tournament is unheard of

I’m loving seeing the slow burn of Trump shitting himself over the ‘Epstein hoax’
If Clinton is guilty he can share a cell with Trump & the paedo ex Prince

I see Italy have qualified for next years t20 World Cup
Under their Australian captain Joe Burns
A man who has more Test centuries in Australia than Joe Root

Re: The Ashes.

Obviously England need to bat better than in previous series in Australia as they’ve never been able to put any pressure on and their bowlers haven’t had time to rest Root averages 35 in Australia  Stokes & Crawley average 28 & Pope 11 Duckett, Brook, Bethel & Smith have never played a T...

Re: The Ashes.

Hazlewood has been very injury prone over the last few years so no surprise. Think he is one of a few that have stayed on to finish up in Tests in this series …. Hazlewood Starc Lyon Khawaja & probably Smith Opportunity for Brendon Doggett though who is a similar stump to stump bowler like Scott...

Re: Tim nice but dim pulls plug on Beeb career

In hindsight I’d actually prefer to see a more restricted bbc on a subscription model A worldwide subscription service for the full offering. Think that would be popular across Europe, America, Australia & Asia Not sure how you restrict access to radio output but I leave that to the technical ne...

Re: Tim nice but dim pulls plug on Beeb career

I don’t believe the edit changed the nature and tone of Trumps speech but the bbc should have made it clear they had bolted two parts of it together without making it clear  That was a mistake  And if they had done the same to anyone that would still have been a mistake … Trump , Starmer, whoever Th...

A better option than the players we replaced him with like Rodriguez & Irving obviously

Re: I didn't believe it at first but Brian Clough as a player had better stats than Jimmy Greaves.

They do have to narrow it down to keep Shearer at the top
Obviously Greaves scored more top flight goals
And Vic Watson had many more goals at a better rate even though most were in Div2

The usual story with foreign aid to countries with nuclear & weapons programmes is that relatively small amount of ‘aid’ is a bribe so they will buy the weapons from the UK

Re: Tim nice but dim pulls plug on Beeb career

Along with other parts the bbc news offering needs a shake up Personally I find Channel 4 news far superior  Generally getting rid of political board appointments would be a start Too many mistakes & misjudgments though the editing of Trumps speech didn’t change the content & tone of his cal...

Talksport saying we are interested again in the 23yo Toulouse centre half Charlie Cresswell. Formerly of Leeds & kept Woltemade quiet in the u21 Euros final that England won
If we could shift Kilman & get someone not scared of heading it would be a positive

Knee injury at 29 back in the days when they were career ending
Yet another who would have gone past the ‘LEADING SCORER’ Shearer otherwise

January needs to see Rodriguez, JWP & Fullkrug out… all of which should have happened in the summer
Fingers crossed that the reported interest by Palace in Kilman if Guehi goes in January is true. That would be a MAJOR result

Don’t understand why Guilherme isn’t playing for the u21’s
Is playing no football at all so has no chance if he ever does come in cold
We aren’t in a position to have committed £20m on a youth ‘for the future’
Another bonkers decision

To make it more consistent I’d say a player anywhere inside the 6 yd box who is in an offside position is deemed to be offside automatically wherever he is in relation to the keeper & the ball

Re: Tim nice but dim pulls plug on Beeb career

Trump has extorted money from several companies so trying it on
Any money he wins will be paid by UK taxpayers
This presidency is a money tree for him especially with his investments run by his sons instead of in a blind trust
