Re: West Ham vs Man Utd | PL | 10.2.26 | Predictions & Match Thread
I do think the survival target will be greater than 40 points this season. So, six wins rather than five would be good.

Re: West Ham vs Man Utd | PL | 10.2.26 | Predictions & Match Thread
Chelsea were coasting at 2-0 and inexplicably gifted Leeds - who hadn't been in the game up until then - two goals. It was after that that Palmer missed an absolute sitter. West Ham should have paid more attention to doubling up on Mbeumo after he went out wide into his most effective position. I'm ...

Tempting fate I know, but Fernandes has just two assists and no goals in 12 league games against the Hammers.
And he won't even be the best Fernandes on the pitch

Re: West Ham vs Man Utd | PL | 10.2.26 | Predictions & Match Thread
I watched their game at the weekend against Spurs. They didn’t impress for much of the game. Mbeumo doesn’t look effective as a central striker. Their strength is the three behind him - Cunha, Diallo and Fernandes. Behind that they looked close to average. Need to compete in midfield and keep it tig...

Re: Stubbornness — on all sides
In the size of club stakes, West Ham have traditionally been grouped with clubs such as Aston Villa, Newcastle and Everton in a second tier behind the rich six. You can see how far West Ham have started to fall behind Villa and Newcastle by looking at financial results over the last few years. Much ...

Re: Stubbornness — on all sides
Your argument might be valid from an abstract profitability perspective. However, as I said previously it is not relevant to the club's ability to spend on players which is directly linked to revenues only. It is also not a simple ownership versus renting issue as we can see from other clubs - Man C...

Re: Stubbornness — on all sides
I'd say that depends what scenario you are comparing it with. I was referring only to continuing to lease the London Stadium under an improved deal. Not building a brand new stadium. Under PSR having low operational costs was a bonus - although capital expenditure on infrastructure could be exclude...

Re: Stubbornness — on all sides
Neither Manchester City nor Newcastle own their stadiums. The Etihad is owned by Manchester City Council and St James' Park by the Freeman of Newcastle. Both clubs have long term leases for their grounds. But importantly they have opertaional control allowing them to profit from sponsorship deals an...

Re: Is Max Kilman the worst centre back in your memory - name worse?
You can judge a player by the things he does or the things he doesn't do. I'd say Kilman's weaknesses fall into the latter category. You won't see too many complete rickets on the ball (like you might with Mav) but much of that is because he is often hiding and fails to get involvedin challenges. Fr...

Re: Alphonse Areola
In each of the last four games, the opposition have scored headed goals from crosses from the right directed at the far post. We have been poor at defending that area. Centre backs have been drawn towards the centre of the goal and full-backs have been slow or reluctant to fill the gap. Personally, ...

Re: Telegraph doom mongering
We don't need to own the stadium but need to have operational control. Pay a more realistic rent, remodel the stadium and keep all the revenues arising from naming rights, food and beverage and non-footballing events. Brady's alleged 'deal of the century' is a millstone around the neck when it comes...

Re: Adama Traoré | Signed
I know a few Barcelona supporters. When he went there on loan a few years back they were amazed. So fast, so strong. So unlike the rest of the team. Then after a few games they realised. Can't pass. Can't score. Thank fuck the rest of the team aren't like that. That said, I reckon he'll do well for...

“Strong, quick and able to create and score goals ” Haha, yeah at a rate of around 1 in 20. I've added his stats for last season when he was regular for Fulham (18 starts, 18 as sub)...a direct goal invovlement every 86 mins. If we can get THAT guy, he's well worth having. Please show your work...

Re: West Ham United 25/26 relegation thread
While every season is different from another there are still 20 teams who play each other with 3 points at stake. Teams can still go on dreadful runs. I doubt most fans expect West Ham to get out the current fix but it’s only natural to hope they can or what’s the point. If the West Ham squad in 20...

Re: Deloitte Football Financial League
Another league we are about to be relegated from. To think, a while ago we were neck and neck with the likes of Villa and Newcastle who have been subject to the same financial rules and constraints. All about desire and ambition. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mESFdFwblggv5BXvcD3L9E0hnGe04s_o/view...
