Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Given we are in a massive hole and can’t solve all the problems in one go, I would rather prioritise what we don’t have rather than worrying about additional backup. With that in mind, my preference would for ball carrying creativity. Someone to deliver what Paqueta is meant to do but doesn’t.

Re: West Ham vs QPR | FA Cup | 11.1.26 | Predictions & Match Thread
Enjoy 30 minute’s worth of football as entertainment by watching Big Match highlights of West Ham vs QPR in the 1975 FA Cup 5th Round. Upton Park, muddy pitch, open game, both teams pushing forward trying to win. Proper tackles, Phil Parkes in goal for QPR, Keith Robson manhandling the referee, no V...

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
Areola is the least of our problems. None of these signings are going to be keeping us up nor prepare us for the championship. We need CBs and STs plus a winger familiar with the premier league. When their was talk of Toney and Traore I thought to myself that gives us a chance. Random scatter gun ...

Forest being crap offers a glimmer of encouragement.
Looked to me as if the keeper went as the result of injured pride following his embarassing attempt to intercept the through ball

The cautionary tale is Fabio Silva who Wolves paid a shed load of money for and who was crap - and continues to be crap now he's at Borussia Dortmund
I'm assuming this transfer was during Nuno's tenure at the club.

Based on past performance, Nuno will be looking to double check that selecting Guido Rodriguez last week was a mistake by repeating it again.

It was a much more encouraging performance all round. Can’t agree with Nuno that it was a similar level of commitment to the Liverpool game. It was several levels higher. Can they carry that forward to Sunday now? AWB had an incredible game. It would be nice if he could show the same “I want to sho...

Re: Billy Bonds, the Guardian .. and me
Well I made a point of listening to that part of the podcast to find out what all the fuss was about. I didn't hear anything that disrespected Bonzo or what he meant to West Ham. And Billy was one of my all-time favourite Hammers. Feels like faux outrage to me but each to their own if that's what th...

I don't blame the Team collectively for how they played, I blame the Manager for the poxy approach to it which is thw real issue. Sure some like Bowen were woefully off it (although he can be excused compared to so many others who underperform) but on the whole they did what was asked of them. Stan...

A team that would have won at least a few points from Brentford and Leeds. But won't be good enough to get anything from Newcastle

I am struggling to get my head around how slitting the throats of strangers on a public train isn't terrorism related. Surely causing terror in a public place is the sheer definition of terrorism. But it seems the perpetrators weren't Muslim, so it's can't be terrorism. Clown world. The accepted de...

Re: Converting players…
Have to say I'm staggered by the idea of Soucek as a centre back. Arguably he would win a few headed duals but the lack of pace and woeful passing/ control would surely be a massive liability.

I think we have had some bad luck with injuries in tournaments over the years as well to be fair. The metatarsal curse with Beckham and Rooney, and Bryan Robson in 86 and 90 World Cups. I think he might have caught Maradona instead of poor old Peter Reid chasing, and whilst David Platt deputised ...

Stopped reading when he wrote that we are an "East End" club. We're not. We are an east London club. And the distinction explains a lot about West Ham and its fans, which this bloke has just merged into the rest of London (including the plastic, soul-less City). Not surprising that a hack...

Although Potter still has a slightly better win percentage than Avram Grant, he has the worse lose percentage (52.1%) than any other West Ham Premier League manager
