WHUFC West Ham vs Spurs | PL | 13.9.25 | Predictions and Match Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

With the 'interesting' football hiatus that International Football brings, figured I'd get this match thread up.  The result against Forest makes this game in some ways less significant (as the clock will have been reset on Potter's tenure) but also more interesting as there is a modicum of form to take into the game.

Fullkrug should obviously never be allowed on international duty again, what with it being an injury magnet for him, but that aside, as of now there are no new injuries.  Rumours of a Summerville injury also appear unfounded.

So from a lineup perspective, I'm expecting something like:
Hermansen

Walker-Peters  Mavropanos   Kilman   Diouf

Ward-Prowse Magassa

 Bowen     Soucek   Fernandes

Paqueta
Subs: Areola, Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Igor, Rodriguez, Irving, Guilherme, Summerville, Willson

Left out: Earthy, Marshall, Potts, Scarles.
Prediction: 1-2 Spurs (Muani, Kudus;  Bowen for us)

Spurs ended strongest that half and clearly they have targeted our miniture GK at set pieces. Was even up to last 10 mins.

The problem remains the one for the last few seasons , no depth in the squad having to play a false 9 and having JWP and Soucek in the same midfield.

Cannot see where a goal comes from for us just now.  The season resting on Magassa being a good acquisition. We look “ok” nothing more.

the consensus of just about everybody is that their goal should have been allowed, which when you watch it back seems both the ref and VAR may have fucked up there. Of course, we'll take the good fortune when it comes our way!

Some decent stuff played by us, surprising how poor Tottenham are considering the money they've spent.

Both fullbacks have been excellent.
I rather have Fabianski than Hermansen.
We miss a striker

Turned it on at 35 minutes from 38-42 I think I counted ten crosses from spurs without is getting out of our half. None were half decent but eventually those will find someone. Almost feels like we're playing without a striker.

Even half. We bossed early on but they turned the screw a bit pushing us deep and we look really vulnerable on corners and quality balls into the box. We do at least look like a side that can compete. Diouf looks like steal of the season and summerville adds some much needed pace going forward. Shame about JWP, absolute passenger.

Paqueta and Fernandes would be enough in the middle. JWP and Soucek should be subbed with both Fullkrug and Wilson

Hermansen and Ward-Prowse are the weakest links in this team by an absolute country mile

I’m not saying we are great or anything. But we strangely look like we actually are a normal top flight football team. Sounds strange to even say that tbh. Just look far more balanced.

seems like they need a set piece to get anything out of us at the moment.

A lot of those balls in the box should be dealt with by our keeper.
