Well after the disaster of Monday at Brentford, the thought of more West Ham in the same week is enough to put anyone in a bad mood.  The 'pros' always talk about wanting to get bad games out of their system quickly, and this gives them that opportunity, but also sets up a horrible start to the weekend for the rest of us!

Teamwise, Mavro is out with what looked a nasty hamstring injury.  Fullkrug is still broken, and Earthy remains unfit.  Otherwise the rest of the squad are fit from a health perspective....maybe less so from a 'wear the shirt' angle.

Nuno's logic for his inverted fullbacks it's been revealed was to try and counter Brentford's inverted wing thread, by showing them onto the defender's strong foot...the less said about the success of that the better.  And it struggles to explain Irving and Soucek in the pivot, beyond maybe 'they're both tall'.

Anyway, hopefully that's the last of the experimentation and we can revert to what at least appears a bit less shit.  Wouldn't surprise me to see him go with a back 5 in this game though (and what I'll assume for my predicted XI).

The squad is now a real quandary.  We don't have a good CB pairing...Todibo looks hopeless, Kilman and Igor both left footed, with one an unknown and the other weak as the senior CB.  Mavro was signed to be 3rd choice, but he's suddenly the most important man in the back line...a problem in itself.

Summerville is a must have...the only true pace in the side so leaving him out can't be compromised.  If 3 at the back and 3-4-3 was viable, not a problem....but once again we don't have a midfield with a logical two-man pairing.  Add in that Bwoen and Soucek are the only goals, and Paqueta is the only real 'vision' and we are in a bad place with a squad that don't work in combination.

So will he gamble on a bad back two, an untried midfield pair, or leave out one of the 'key' players in Soucek, Bowen, Paqueta, and Summerville.

And as for playing a real striker....

Predicted Score: Leeds 2 : 0 West Ham.

I get he has to start Todibo and Kilman as i believe that new fella from Brighton is shit in the air, but 3 fullbacks and the slowest pair of midfielders playing football in all 4 leagues. He is a more defensive manager than Potter, i am really not sure why everyone was pleased we got him, maybe just pleased that Potter had gone. Just amazed with this lineup.

I really believed in this guy. I thought he was serious. Now he has to waste about a hundred games finding out that a slow, uncreative and weak midfield can’t win games in the PL. Like that’s some new revelation? 

We got pinned back on Monday because of this. My only hope is that he’s kidnapped some of their wives and told them to play properly or else she gets it in the neck! 

and even with that threat I don’t think they can play better than they do.

honestly, I have no idea what’s going on at this club anymore. This is the twilight zone. Nothing that happens at this club makes any sense.

You know the clubs recruitment is bad when Wilson, Magassa and Fernandes can't even get into the team. Why on earth sign Wilson? One thing we arguably have got going for us is the crossing ability of Diouf so why not play a striker? I can't even hazard a guess at where they are going to play. Surely not Scarles at right back again? Or is it going to be an inspired decision to play him on the left of a back three? If so that leaves two in midfield and the electrifying pace of Tomas and Andy. Or will if make it a three with Paqueta in there with absolutely no forward at all and do a Big Sam away at Spurs and go striker less? No blinking idea.

What are all these managers seeing in these players and selections that defy all logic? Does someone hit them over the head with a baseball bat when they walk through the door on their first day or Men in Black them? It feels like he's picking the weakest side he can get away with.

It was OK against Everton and Arsenal. It was shit against Brentford, so he's gone the Brentford way?

Fernandes MUST be unfit to start, what has Magassa done to get dropped? Why Irving and Soucek? Why NOT Potts? This is truly baffling. I was POSITIVE he'd really change it up and go back to what had worked to an extent.
