When Harry went to Browns office in 2001 he was expecting to sign a new 4 year contract, but he got sacked instead, had been a lot of arguments about money for transfers, Harry said we needed players (we did) Brown disagreed, Harry then mouthed off in an interview so got he sacked, he had been the manager for 7 years!

Point is up until that time, we had only a handful of managers in our entire history of about 100 years, 7 i think including Macari who didn't last long, remember the press saying it was like getting a new Pope such was the rarity of this happening at West Ham, think other clubs and fans in general had lot of respect for us, we were a bit of an icon in the Football world, had a reputation for playing great football even if our Trophy cabinet was bit lacking!!! And fans of all clubs always looked forward to playing us, Since Harry's departure we have had 14 managers (if you include Sir Trev) in 24 years.......Name 1 (ONE) who did a decent job and you would have back??????

Don't give a fuck about who our "next" manager is as odds on he will NOT turn us around, all that's left of West Ham is a name and a club who were once revered for the football they played that's it.

That depends on the particulars of the contract that Moyes was (allegedly) offered and then refused to sign. If it meant that Moyes had no say over players coming into the club it could be worse

It would be very similar. We avoided the drop the season we won the Cup because Rice was still here. He was the difference (along with Bowen of course) that meant we stayed up.
Where did we finish in the other three seasons of Moyes second stint?

We are out of options now and that is the last resort to save us from relegation under Sullivan's cheapskate MO of never buying an employed manager out of a contract.
I had to listen to the game on radio London tonight where Neil McDonald was sumerising

He seems to still have a genuine affection for the club and has a handle on what we need to do to get out of the predicament we are in.

I'm certainly not a fan of Big Sam but we are in dire straits so maybe he and McDonald as no 2 could be a final throw of the dice.

They would at least drill some discipline into the squad and get them defending effectively.

Not so much a step backward but one to prevent us falling through the relegation trap door.

In Nuno’s first game, we looked okay against an admittedly mediocre Everton side.

That was both their new managerial bounces instantly used up and that was only a poxy draw against a defensive Moyes side and a loss in the Cup. 🤪

When Potter took charge, we actually looked good n his first game. At least in the first half, until Fullkrug and Summerville got injured.

In Nuno’s first game, we looked okay against an admittedly mediocre Everton side.

In hindsight, neither of them could have made that much impact in a short space of time.

My conclusion is that the players are better off without a manager, or someone else took charge of training for both those games and is better than all these tossers we keep throwing money at.
