Window? Sell! Window? Sell! Sell Our Soul All Day! PL Games for 3rd & 4th January 2026

Post Mike Oxsaw »

Saturday, 3 January 2026 12:30
Aston Villa v Nottingham Forest
Venue: Villa Park
League Positions: 3 v 17
Current Forms: 30 v 9

This really should be a banker for Villa, who need to bounce back after being destroyed by Arsenal. Forest seem to be diving deeper into the woods, which is good news for us.

Prediction: Home Win

Saturday, 3 January 2026 15:00
Brighton & Hove Albion v Burnley
Venue: Falmer Stadium
League Positions: 14 v 19
Current Forms: 9 v 7

Clash of the bottom halvers. Neither team seem to be having much luck at the moment, but, after seeing Brighton play against us the other day, I can't really swing any other way.

Prediction: Home Win

Saturday, 3 January 2026 15:00
Wolverhampton Wanderers v West Ham United
Venue: Molineux
League Positions: 20 v 18
Current Forms: 5 v 6

Another stats clash - clash of the out-of-formers. Manchester United did us no favours at all by drawing with Wolves and they'll be looking to improve on that point. Cue a game against West Ham who are the undisputed champions when it comes to ending other teems poor runs and other players goal droughts. Sounds to me like this will be tomorrows headline game on the back pages, but I'm throwing a bit of New Year optimism into the mix:

Prediction: Draw

Saturday, 3 January 2026 17:30
A. F. C. Bournemouth v Arsenal
Venue: Dean Court
League Positions: 15 v 1
Current Forms: 11 v 45

Can't see anything other than a romp in the park here for Arsenal. Bournemouth did well to get a point at Stamford bridge last time out, but I don't see that helping here.

Prediction: Away Win

Sunday, 4 January 2026 12:30
Leeds United v Manchester United
Venue: Elland Road
League Positions: 16 v 6
Current Forms: 21 v 22

Well, Leeds are certainly making a fist of it and looking very much like they'll be playing PL football next season. Manchester United? Corners are there to be turned.

Prediction: Home Win

Sunday, 4 January 2026 15:00
Everton v Brentford
Venue: Goodison Park
League Positions: 8 v 9
Current Forms: 22 v 27

Battle of the blands, in virtually every way. So much so that this game would be a shoo-in for a Monday evening TV contractual obligation match. Cigarette papers & all that.

Prediction: Draw

Sunday, 4 January 2026 15:00
Fulham v Liverpool
Venue: Craven Cottage
League Positions: 11 v 4
Current Forms: 29 v 35

Fulham took a point from Palace, 'pool dropped 2 at home to Leeds. Difficult to call. Possible home win, but more likely to be a:

Prediction: Draw

Sunday, 4 January 2026 15:00
Newcastle United v Crystal Palace
Venue: St James' Park
League Positions: 13 v 10
Current Forms: 24 v 6

All signs here point to a home win; Palace seem to be somewhat stuttering, while the barcodes found the onion bag 3 times in their last game, albeit against Burnley.

Prediction: Home Win

Sunday, 4 January 2026 15:00
Tottenham Hotspur v Sunderland
Venue: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium
League Positions: 12 v 7
Current Forms: 20 v 18

Now then, now then, now then. Let's be frank for a moment. Right. That's enough silliness, Home advantage should could be the decider here but recent history does not really support that (Fnar! Fnar! Yuk! Yuk! Te-He!). Would love an away win, just because, well, it's Spurs, innit? Head says:

Prediction: Draw

Sunday, 4 January 2026 17:30
Manchester City v Chelsea
Venue: The Etihad Stadium
League Positions: 2 v 5
Current Forms: 35 v 17

Separated by 11 points & 3 league places. Managerless Chelsea could have probably done with a game against almost anybody else this weekend, but them's the way the apples blow.

Prediction: Home Win

The Why-do-I-bother-I-won-bugger-all-last-week acca.

Aston Villa    (@ Home to Nottingham Forest 3/4)
Arsenal (Away @ A. F. C. Bournemouth 4/9)
Manchester United (away @ Leeds United 6/4) (sudden rush of blood selection)
Liverpool (Away @ Fulham 19/20)

Total stake: £11.00
Potential returns: £60.76
