January Window
I don't often take notice of the windows, mainly because most of the players linked are paper-talk, ITK nonsense or fan speculation, however, there's lots of talk about unsettled players in the side, so we could see several players move on.
Soler, Fullkrug and Rodriques apparently haven't settled in London so I would imagine they'd be looking to move on. It's more difficult in Fullkrug's case as his injury doesn't seem to have a return date, which is a very typical thing to happen.
Apparently the player signing reigns will be taken out of the hands of Steitden, as the power hungry midget blames him for our failed season so far, not himself for employing someone completely until to manage in the PL, and the focus could be on Championship players. To be a little balanced, we have signed some very good players from the second division and it is a gold mine if you know what you're looking for.
Then there's Paqueta. He's having a stinker of a season and he should be moved on if we can, but I doubt there will be any takers until his case is resolved. Is there a confirmed date for his hearing?
More importantly, what do we need? A striker should be a top priority, even if it's a loan with an option to buy. The Big German might not be back again and Antonio is less a cart-horse and more a Jackass and reliably unreliable. Some pace in midfield to support Alvarez or Soucek and a new goalie. Fabianski as good as he is too old to start and Alfie Tits is shit, in my opinion.
I don't watch a great deal of neutral football anymore, so I'm not offering names, but for the TV scouts, bartsoolers and Football Manager aficionados, who's worth the club pursuing?

Re: January Window
Probably already been posted on here but I saw a tweet indicating Sullivan ‘feels the need to take control’ of the transfer business.
So that’s us even more fucked then.
On Rashford, it seems like a very risky move. On his day he’s very good but there aren’t many of those days at the moment and if he can’t be arsed for his own boyhood club then why would he for us? Problems with two managers in a row rings massive alarm bells to me. That said with our usual injury problems, maybe he’s a decent fit on a loan to the end of the season like Lingard turned out to be.

Re: January Window
Make no mistake, Rashford would arguably become the best player to ever play for West Ham if we actually got the deal over the line.

It would be one thing if we had a manager who had any sort of track record for being able to coach up players and getting them to play more than the sum of their parts, but our manager is CLEARLY not that person.

Re: January Window
See Newcastle are now looking at Mcatee and Dibling.
they spend big money on young HG talent but it seems to be working for them.
It’s this kind of approach that I think would work best for us.

Re: January Window
One of the worst run Prem clubs regarding football development operations…
Makes you wonder what Noble Steidten do for their wages…
But overall the blame is Sullivan’s…
53 Strikers without getting many goals in return…wonder what the average goals per game ratio is for these 53…
I’m guessing about one goal for every 8 to 10 games…

You cannot possibly believe that Steidten didn't want Duran first and was only forced into Fullkrug after Sullivan was too cheap for the former.
That's why my next post states I also hold Sullivan culpable as well for penny pinching the Duran deal initially. I just portion blame on Steidten for not having a better less desperate back up choice than the expensive Carthorse.

Re: January Window
Looking forward to see Cornet given another chance. Just hope he doesn’t freeze, or melt under pressure.
Re: January Window
We do have weaknesses no doubt but the fear is that whoever we bring in will not be suited to the assortment of tactics Lopetegui is employing. We actually have good players. I recall a West Ham podcast citing the example of Paqueta as a very good player if you “dont” give him a free reign. He was one of the best creative midfielders in Moyes limited tactics which meant he had a restricted role and even spent half the season out wide left. It wasnt ideal but those tactics were actually better for him even if he didnt think so. Under Lopetegui he’s trying flicks and tricks that are suicidal.
Same for Alvarez who had great stats as a sitting CDM not being asked to step out and press or step into the back 3 or 5.
So yes we need an athletic midfielder and a striker but may well see no improvement unless Lopetegui simplifies the tactics more and gets the players to understand them because it sure looks like they do not know why they are asked to do a lot of what we see. And moreover we dont yet have all the players needed to press high anyway. Furthermore, most yeams have stopped doing that Klopp high press thing anyway except Spurs and arguably thats why they ate getting cut open a lot too

Agreed. Another drain on wages and big distraction from the Team we don't need. We're a big enough Circus as it is without attracting more clown acts to it.

Re: January Window
Thats right Stubbo.
Sullivan would unzip at the thought of Rashford joining. He would be the 54th failed striker Sullivan has got in too. Spectacular consistency from our leader. But he had to take back recruitment from Steidten who messed up one window. Well 2 players as 3 were Sullivan and 3 were Lopetegui choices. So Steidten was really chief scout and certainly had no automony. For that reason its hard to really blame it all on him. But Sullivan has and he’s got his PR machine telling everyone who messed things up in summer. Well it coouldnt be Sullivan could it? Despite picking 3 players himself and the head coach. But many fans have already bought into the narrative and the media definitely have.
Putin and the Kremlin run the biggest propaganda machine on the globe but would stand stand in awe at the BS Sullivan and Brady have churned out down the years.

Re: January Window
Rashford is a clear Razzle Dazzle Sullivan loan signing candidate.
Massive Wages? Check.
Former 'next big thing'? Check
Available on loan? Check
At a Club of great stature? Check
Plenty of Razzle Dazzle? Check
Almost worth sticking a bet on it.
