So they’ve finally reformed after years of speculation and denial and announced a 2025 tour. Musical geniuses or a bunch of cunts?
I’m IN.

"Yeah, pub band. Have a check there in the early part of 1994. Quite a few pubs. https://www.oasis-live.net/shows/1994"

One of the most overrated bands in music history. They are a glorified Stones/ Beatles tribute act. Pathetic band.

"Pub band in 1994? Had a massive album sat at number one in the charts and were undeniably the most hyped band around at that point. You lemon. But as for the reunion, I have zero interest. They must be proper skint."

"Colly About 20% less than Taylor Swifts as they won’t need 70 trucks and 40 busses. Prob about the same price as the Pink shows in Dublin. The Aviva stadium is a proper shit show, we just plough through all the weight restrictions, great fun."

"Saw them in 1994 when they were still a pub band. Didn't think that much of them back then, either."

Bungo 12:23 Tue Aug 27 Saw them at Brixton Academy on the Reise Reise tour and was stood within eyebrow singeing range of the stage. They were superb. Last time was at the O2 Arena and even they had difficulty rocking that soulless void of a venue.

Can’t wait. Going to be an absolute ball ache trying to get tickets though. Any idea of the price ? I’m expecting about €200 a pop

Although I was mainly into the rave scene ba k in the 90s I saw Oasis three times and enjoyed it. Probably because back then it felt like a big thing to be part of Brit Pop etc. I have no inclination yo get tickets for this to be surrounded by idiots coked up and constantly filming using their mobiles rather than being in the moment and enjoying it. Personally I think this will not end well and be a total shit show

"Iron Duke 12:08 Tue Aug 27 ""Wembley Stadium is also shit for watching live music. Awkward place to get to. Venue too big. You’ll be watching it on a screen surrounded by bell ends."" This. I find one of the few positives about getting older is that I am no longer desperate to see any band whatever the cost or circumstance. I've had enough of huge stadium shows which are exactly as you describe. Absolute waste of time unless you are so keen to brag that 'you were there'. Rammstein was entertaining but that was all about watching the enormous pyro show."

"Saw them once at Glastonbury and they were fucking terrible. They spent almost as much time failing to tune their guitars as actually playing songs and they were not all that good at the latter. The highlight was a completely legless Robbie Williams staggering onto the stage, mumbling incoherently into a mic and then wobbling off stage. Never got their sub-Beatles schtick at all."

"I saw them in Knebworth. Although they were good , and the support line up was good, the whole occasion, venue and experience was a bit shit. Wembley Stadium is also shit for watching live music. Awkward place to get to. Venue too big. You’ll be watching it on a screen surrounded by bell ends. Not for me."

"Seems a right shit show, 30 trucks all off hired (except for Dublin) whilst the show is on. This will be done a cheaply as possible with lots of accountants getting involved."

Absolute darlings of the music press in the mid 90's. Played on the 'edgy' relationship between the 2 brothers and the world's youngsters lapped it up. Without the NME/ Melody Maker they would have held little intest in the wider world but they played it very well. L Became 'legends' without an over abundance of talent.

"Makes no odds to me, but there will be a lot of happy people today and that can't be a bad thing. Saw them once in concert at Earls Court after coming back from an away game up norf. Good memories."

Will try and get tickets for my son and his mates. I wouldn't go.
Not sure what it tells you about the state of modern music that the kids are as much into the bands of our youth as we were at the time.
