If nothing else that should signal Ings' departure in Jan. Pleased for Mubama but he's not the answer... he's just better than Ings so for that reason alone deserves more minutes. Shame again for Cornet. Bennie did sweet fuck all when he came on so by definition Cornet couldn't have been worse Pacqueta needs to get back to his earlier season form. Thought he was shite today

That was dire and it was the manager’s poor team selections. Ings is finished. Soucek is not an attacking midfielder. Paqueta is not a left winger. Once Alvarez came off and Soucek went to DM. Once Mubama came on for Ings to give some presence up front and Benrahma went LW it allowed Paqueta to move centrally. Only then did we look like a balanced team and start to get at them. Still nowhere good enough though. Aguerd again got robbed as did Paqueta all game. It’s a terrible condemnation of the manager that after 3 seasons he’s still turning in shit formations.

I did not know it was possible to play that bad and win. Absolute daylight robbery. Paqueta was probably the worst player on the pitch closely followed by Ings and Soucek he may of got the winner but he is a truly truly awful footballer. Ings offers nothing to the side and why anybody would start him is truly baffling. We have two highly rated youngsters and starting an old player who can’t run offers nothing oustsde the box but hasn’t scored for 22 games just because he has “experience” is just another reason why this dinosaur has no place at the club anymore. The sooner he is gone the better for everybody concerned but unfortunately I can’t see that till the end of the season.

"What I hate the most is that for all the relative successes in recent seasons, we have had to sacrifice on watchable football. 9/10 of that game was a steaming pile of dogshit and had we been beat 2-0 there would be no complaints. Yes it’s a results business but The game is meant to be entertaining, especially given the ticket prices and distances travelled, and, in the most part, that today, result aside was painful to watch."

Kudus got swamped with three on him whenever he got the ball. Did very well to provide 2 assists. Lucky we had him today

"Yeah, we were very lucky to get a result from today's display, for sure... Word is that Alonso is the most likely replacement for our merry Scotsman, but that may just be his relationship with Steidten causing the gossip. Personally, I'd prefer to see Domenico Tredesco get the gig... he's well known to both Tim and Kretinsky, is young, progressive and experienced up to and including CL level. Alonso has the benefit of past experience of the Prem and life in the UK of course, so who can say..?"

"Agree Scorchio, Mubama was a massive plus from the game. Surely we will see more of him and we all love to see a youngster getting an opportunity to come into the first team. I hate to say it, but Kudus like Paqueta was also hot and cold. Its so frustrating to see them give the ball away when you know they can do better. Have to say for Kudus it is still early days and he needs to get used to the pace and intensiry and yes 2 lovely asists is obviously a very good return."

"Opinions as always but surely nobody thinks playing like that with those bizarre selections will garner points against most teams in the league? Soucek is taking his goals well but he’s simply.not quick enough or technically able enough to be starting games and was and s invisible for 90 mins. He’s an impact sub if we’re chasing a game or need to change approach in Premiership games. Coufal we need an upgrade on too longer term and Benny has no end product and obviously we need a striker or two. Another dynamic , central midfielder with good technique for the squad would also be good. JWP was on the periphery and looked weak at times today too but he’s usually a tidy player and of course has those set piece deliveries. If Steidten can get the quality he’s brought in with Kudus, Alvarez ( tired performance but still a strong player with good passing) we could have a very good side but it will have to be with a different kind of manager. His selections to start the game were baffling but so predictable"

Was Ings a Sullivan signing? Only explanation I can think of.

Delighted with the points but that was a very poor performance against a very poor team and we absolutely stole a win today. I don’t want to sound overly negative in victory but those late goals really did paper over some cracks. On the plus side it was great to see Mubama get some significant time. Surely no more Ings now. Soucek for all his flaws keeps coming up with the goods when it counts this season so well done to him. Kudus MOTM again. Paqueta a bit hot and cold again.

What a well taken volley for the goal by Soucek. Lovely bit of skill. Might even shut the Soucek haters up.

"We were a bit fortunate to come away with a win, i,m not complaining ,but we were playing the bottom team . if we had lost we would probably have gotten Rid of Moyes and Nolan. The stubborn cսnt played Ings from the start to no avail."

Like many games over the last two seasons the result masks just how poor and turgid our performances are. We are bailed out by the odd bit of quality. This team is packed full of ability but it's made to play like a non league side. Of happy with the points but its neither exciting or entertaining to watch. I felt the same about Allardyces style.
