Eventually the economics of women's football will dawn on owners and be pruned to match the revenue it generates. Might take a few years but it will happen...

Encouraging women and girls to play is great but the money this team costs the club .... never revealed .... in my mind would be better concentrated on our u18's and u21's Would love if Sky gave the same coverage to u21 football. Am sure the ratings would be better

"Brighton & Hove Albion Women 0 - 2 West Ham United Women Goals in either half from Kirsty Smith and Riko Ueki helped West Ham to an impressive victory over Brighton at Broadfield Stadium. Rehanne Skinner's first victory since replacing Paul Konchesky in the summer was full of energy and intensity, as her players executed an excellent tactical gameplan. West Ham's pressing gave them an early foothold and remained a key theme throughout a physical match. They should have taken the lead through Smith early on, but she could not keep her shot on target from close range after a mix-up in the home defence. Yet Skinner's side did not have to wait long for the opener. With just 12 minutes on the clock, Smith forced a rebound over the line after Sophie Baggaley parried Ueki's shot from outside the box into her path. Brighton began to assert themselves as the half went on, but Hawa Cissoko was a solid presence at the back for the visitors. The Seagulls twice went close through Pauline Bremer just before the break, first with a header and then a powerful shot blocked by Mackenzie Arnold. Their onslaught continued with an Elisabeth Terland effort, but West Ham held on. The second half followed the same pattern as an energetic and organised West Ham hunted the ball effectively. Ueki doubled their lead in the 51st minute with her first goal for the club, heading home Lisa Evans' pin-point free-kick. Brighton struggled to respond and the outstanding Evans led a swift counter-attack that almost led to a third moments later. Smith's day was cut short with a shoulder injury, but even that could not dampen what was a dominant display by the Hammers. Relive Sunday's WSL action Powerful display kickstarts Skinner's tenure West Ham were beaten convincingly by Manchester City in Skinner's first game last week, and there was a point to prove at Brighton as they recorded just a second win in 14. The manner of their performance was the most pleasing for the new boss. Even as Brighton stepped up in the second half, West Ham did not panic. Defender Cissoko was imperious and, in Japan forward Ueki, they look to have a striker who can score goals in the big moments. "Ahead of Newcastle Utd's Champions League game against PSG, one of the news crew asked Alan Shearer whether he'd be wearing his lucky pants. Now imagine if the Arsenal women's team got to an important game, and some newsreader asked Alex Scott whether she was wearing her lucky knickers? There would be OUTRAGE. It's equality gone mad."

"Early kick-off for the women tomorrow. Saturday Oct 7, 2023 12:00 PM Brighton & Hove Albion Women - West Ham United Women Brighton finished below us last season, 2nd from the bottom (but no relegation?). Therefore, hopefully first points for us. However, Brighton did beat Everton last weekend and we are away, so it will not be easy. I see the times I pasted at the top are before games were rescheduled. sorry about that..."

Getting the ex Spurs manager might not be a good move seeing as they lost the last 9 games under her management. Way behind most teams in the league and never fill the bench.

"I think it's a shame that the FA had tried to make the women's game a copy of the men's instead of letting it develop organically. An example being the well established and successful Doncaster Belles being removed from the top division to make room for Man City during the season. In Australia, the rugby league and Aussie rules have done the same."

"From what I recall the women's team are run atrociously They sell any player that has any talent and replace with crap The squad is painfully thin.. again, and again yesterday they could not field a full subs bench Definitely going down this season, oh and by the way, their best player and captain is pregnant !!! She's now no longer captain, strange decision Brady in charge, says a lot"

I was surprised what they done with the programme and il also had practically the same full page photograph of the goalkeeper on two separate pages. I never read any of the women's stuff to be honest but then again I'm never sure why I buy the bloody thing full stop..

A simple truth that the BBC and Talksport need to understand is that splitarse football is fucking shit and no one's interested in it.

"I generally take no interest in women's sport except for the world cup, but I don't get the degree of misogyny towards it. It's people doing their best at something they enjoy. No need to go full incel over it."

Women’s football is shit. Emma Hayes is annoying. The female co commentator on the Chelsea game sounded like someone from the ghetto.
