Re: UK house prices falling...
Brexit regret? Hahahaha! I think the aftermath of the pandemic and it’s lockdowns that has been the thing for people to not have time to even think about Brexit…..and those continentals were trying to be cunts to us through that as well…..but luckily we were free of them….

"chim chim cha boo 9:57 Sat Apr 6 ""Fuck me I've never caught so many fish in one attempt."" You typed out almost 200 words for a ""fishing attempt"" on Brexit? You've become a right bore recently."

"What is it about a centrist that loves a globalist, multinational, technocratic top down view of the World? Instead of looking to your own capabilities as an individual you search a father figure. Whatever happens at the next election we’ll still have this prevailing mentality in place. Maybe even more so."

Re: UK house prices falling...
From the OBR Comparing our recent overall trade performance with other advanced economies suggests that the UK saw a similar collapse in exports as other countries at the start of the pandemic but has since missed out on much of the recovery in global trade.d UK and aggregate advanced economy goods export volumes fell by around 20 per cent during the initial wave of the pandemic in 2020. But by the fourth quarter of 2021 total advanced economy trade volumes had rebounded to 3 per cent above their pre-pandemic levels while UK exports remain around 12 per cent below Though set up by a Tory government you’d probably regard them as part of the Woke blob or something. Even the stats you put up Surf show declines in sectors that aren’t exporting fuel products. It doesn’t matter anyway as you and the Brexiteers on here are swimming against a tide of Brexit regret and you know it

"How anyone can look at the economy and not try and factor in Covid and Wars into their Brexit tinged glasses is beyond me. Obviously, you could in theory try and pick a similar EU nation and see how well they are doing and analyse why? Like Italy with its huge grant for building stuff. Still, they do have a nice centre right government with the opposition in disarray."

"Debs, According to this source https://tradingeconomics.com/united-kingdom/exports https://tradingeconomics.com/united-kingdom/imports These are the actual import and export numbers, not some numbers massaged and adjusted out of all recognition to suit the agenda of a massively pro-Remain left wing think tank."

Re: UK house prices falling...
House prices have had two slight blips since the mid 90s. Once in 2009 and then they have flatlined a bit in the last two years. The only thing that slows the growth is availability of credit. My property is almost 10x higher than when I bought it in 97.

Re: UK house prices falling...
"WE seem to be moving from a ""prices will not rise"" perspective to an ""inflation will remain steady"" one; two very different things. Building in inflation allows companies to borrow against that inbuilt inflation and the panic (s) start when prices don't rise at least in line with that expected inflation on account that the :capital"" against which that extra borrowing was made, along with the ability to pay it's interest, fails to materialise."

"Fuck me I've never caught so many fish in one attempt. I've even bought some proper tory bottom - dwellers out of their shit - filled weeds in what was a reasonably nice river before some cսnt privatised the British water and let it police itself. Thinking about it, maybe that's the current squatters in number 10's very idea of the nebulous 'police' who seem to have vanished from the UK except if you live next to one of the endless prime ministers we've had over the last 14 years who have two policemen with semi-automatic rifles guarding their front door? ...or have they cut THAT down to one too? If they have it's probably not to save cash, more the fact that the armed protection squad tend to be a bit rapey and murderey?"

"Debs 'Trade is falling' Erm. No. It isn't. That's factually untrue. Incidentally, house prices aren't falling. One estimate out of about 10 recent ones says this. The others all say house prices are slowly rising after a long hiatus."

"I know these are words that chill you to the bone, but THE UK IS NEVER GOING TO REJOIN THE EU. Grow up, learn to live with that fact and move on with your life for the sake of your health. Loads of work still to be had for you, too - within EU and without EU. I'm sure that you will find what you're looking for."

"Of course immigration has gone up you dumb fuck, as now those that could move freely have to apply to stay through our immigration process……"
Re: UK house prices falling...
Trundle What was this positive? Or is it just a forecast ? And how can this forecast know if we’d stayed we’d be better off? Why has immigration gone up? Why according to Cambridge Uni investigation London has lost billions due to Brexit. I’ve listed many negatives . So what is this positive? Are we just like Singapore now as Boris promised. You’ve been mugged off you thick uneducated simple moron.

"Swiss You being unable to see any positives, even when I've listed one here given the forecast, is very much a positive for most of us that voted to leave."
Re: UK house prices falling...
"Anyone claiming that brexit is a success or otherwise so soon after its ‘implementation’ is talking bollocks. It’s a long term constitutional change the effect of which will be seen over decades. A bit like when you start a new job - for the first six months or so it’s shit because you are learning, that doesn’t mean it’s a shit job and you should have stayed at your old one. Anyway the success or otherwise of brexit depends on the individuals perspective and their priorities all of which vary wildly. That’s why it’s pointless debating it."
Re: UK house prices falling...
"Here you are In February 2024, In February 2024, the UK's annual inflation rate of 3.4% was a little higher than in France (3.2%), as well as Germany (2.7%), the Eurozone average (2.6%) Brexit has been an utter fuck up. People who still defend are deluding themselves as they won‚Äôt back track on a decision they made knowing it was wrong. I‚Äôm still waiting for a positive. As stated on Clarkeson‚Äôs farm the farmer have been screwed . The so called replacement for the EU 1 billion they took has not been replaced. Boris is a lying cսnt who mugged you off"

Re: UK house prices falling...
"""Inflation probably higher than it would have been without brexit"" Pure speculative bollox. Several country's in the EU saw inflation long before the UK. Using words like '""probably"" says nothing factual, it's a wild guess at best trying to be passed off as fact."

Re: UK house prices falling...
"Darlo Debs 12:54 Sat Apr 6 From whom are those pesky white people buying these properties? I suspect at one time it was from the families of former tin-miners & fishermen cashing in on their inheritance and starting the chain. As European expansion/Globalism (that's not an either/or) have decimated said trades in SW England, there's no meaningful employment left in those areas for the remaining, ageing population and their offspring. There's no god-given right to live your whole life in the area that you were born, there's not even a god-given right to live in an area you want to (but just can't afford). The way to prevent mass 2nd-home buying is to create sufficient sustainable employment in a given area, such that the locals don't need to leave. Failing that proof of continuous 25 years occupancy in a given area before a purchase can be made. Lastly a local environmental tax could be applied in such a manner that it prices 2nd home ownership out of the market for a given reason. However, I suspect that some creme-de-la-creme educated boffin has decided that 2nd home ownership is actually beneficial to the UK economy, so there's unlikely to be any national level enthusiasm to curtail it. Anyhow. It's basically too many people chasing too few homes. Reducing the number of people in any legally acceptable manner (morals can fuck right off until we've solved the underlying problem as they only exasperate it) seems the more preferable of the two at a national level. If you understand why you have to make an appointment to see the doctor, you've a chance of understanding why the nation needs a solid, reliable infrastructure plan."

Re: UK house prices falling...
"Mike you are very wrong, planning regulations mean local people in many areas can’t get housing then them pesky white rich people go and compound the problem by buying second homes in places and push up prices even further. Tell me where there is an immigration issue in places like Cornwall and Devon as just 2 examples."
