Zeb. interestingly I think it was a few weeks before the World's Edwards jumped even further than what he did in the World's but the red flag went up because of an illegal trailing wind. The jump was massive and its on You Tube and when he pushes off on the jump stage he isn't that far from the sand pit.

12 today thanks zico I remember watching Jonathan Edwards destroying his own world record twice in the same competition. The first one was Beamon-esque in quite how much he broke the record by and then he did it again in the next round. Given the leap in technology since then with faster tracks and trick shoes it is amazing that it still stands.
