I actually thougt for once Hardy wasn't OTT and Mirren and Brosnan were.and I thought Paddy Considine was the best of all of them.

Agree though a weak ending,

Still prefer GoL .

Surf.

Agree with the Sipowitz character assessment.  The episode where his son gets shot is one of my favourite pieces of tv ever, superb plot and acting all round.

I really enjoyed Mobland, but was thinking it was mainly due to the cast, with Tom Hardy the standout. Take out the cast replace them with lesser actors and the plot is something that you've seen umpteen times before, feuding crime families etc. Will be a second series.

I loved Top Boy which was written by the same bloke and I've managed to avoid all spoilers, so I'm looking forward to it.
It's quite enjoyable if you don't try to compare it to anything else like Gangs of London.

A lot of criticism for Brosnan's accent but he sounds exactly like an Irishman who has lived in England for a long time, which I know because his accent is how my family speak.

NYPD Blue was excellent  quite gritty for it's time.
If you remember 'Hill Street Blues' then it's a similar vibe only set in New York rather than LA. Some great storylines and it wasn't afraid tobshow the sleazier side of some in the force. Cant speak for Blue Bloods as  never saw it but I would highly recommend NYPD Blue.
NYPD Blue was made by the same team as HSB. It's MUCH better - Andy Sipowitz is one of the great flawed heroes of modern television. HSN was good though, also.

I don't think HSB was set in LA - if it was, they certainly had some unusual snow going on! I think we aren't supposed to know where it was, though I always thought Chicago.

Totally agree.  The final two were puerile beyond belief.

For comedy the best thing on TV right now is The Studio. I see Seth Rogan has managed to get loads of A list celebrities to do cameos like Scorsese, Tom Howard, Steve Buscemi, Zac Efron and many more.

He’s character reminds me of Ari Gold in the brilliant Entourage.

The weathers turned shit and the footballs over. So back to telly.
Thought i'd start black mirror 7. Just a quick episode before bed - Common People -  excellent return to form after a couple of weak seasons, but now i feel like i want to stare into space for 3 days. WTF it was a tough one. Blackest of black comedy.
