I’m not yet convinced by Kilman (he’s decent, but doesn’t dominate: especially for £40m), Summerville (young and has pace, but still a bit headless chicken) etc.

Maybe they’ll improve more under a different manager. But this whole group needs to improve. It’s all too slow and directionless. You can see the cogs whirring…very slowly…

No fishing intended, but Soucek and Paqueta are pulling us backwards. Slower players you would struggle to find.

But who else to put on?

We spent so much money. We have talented players like Kilman, AWB, Todibo, Bowen, Paqueta, Summerville out there and we play THAT fucking shite?

Well, the good news is we’re not losing.

Everything else was poor.

We’re almost a third of the way into the season, and we just look like a pub team that just met each other. Disjointed, slow in defence and midfield, no sense of a tactical system or co-ordination. It took 44 minutes for us to register a shot on goal: at home to Sean Dyche’s Everton.

Having spent £150m over the summer, our level should be so much higher than this by now.

Hope we buck the fuck up in the second half.
