These refs get abused every week. This is often encouraged by managers like Klopp and Arteta who use their post match interviews to openly put pressure on the refs, they have a huge platform with rabid followers and an aroused media (including ex pros) who will not call them out on it. It’s a form of cheating imo - putting pressure on refs to get favourable decisions in future.

I’d like to think the authorities will deal with this in a way where they look at the root cause, but suspect they will close ranks, push Coote out of top level reffing, issue a humbling apology and give Liverpool lots of favourable decisions for a while.

Yes he's been stupid, but maybe, just maybe people like Klopp and Arteta will think twice about how they treat people. Very easy to forget that refs are also human beings (some of them anyway) and when you're as horrible to them as these blokes clearly are, it's not surprising if it affect their decision making against you.

Klopp would be in there face in an effort to get decisions favourable to him - this might actually make them realise they are exactly as Coots describes them and it's probably worked against them.
