That cսnt wants that poxy stadium on the cheap, hook or by crook. Relegation would be his best chance.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
I don’t think they want to be in the championship. That would take too much planning to orchestrate such a mess of policy over 3 yrs to drag us down. The reality is just straight up incompetence.
All really stemming from this weird policy of not getting a manager who is still in contract. We do it with players, why not managers? The most important position in the club and he’s got some superstition (or taxable benefit) because he thinks he’s the ultimate wheeler dealer of something.
it’s tragic but it is what it is.
but he definitively wants to stay up, but won’t use his own money to do it that’s all.
the silly thing is the valuation of the club is heavily dependent on its PL status and so him saving a few quid is going to cost him massively.

At least we can stop fretting / stressing. This window will be the final nail in our relegation coffin. Never thought we would give up PL status so easily.
Sullivan will prove to be our worst owner in history if he’s not already. He will have taken us back to the early 1950s. What a legacy

Not true until on OS is the usual thinking.
Dont be surprised if we come up empty handed again. Net surplus this window. Hardly the look of a club serious about surviving. Small squad got even smaller.
Will be reliant on u21s keeping us in the championship. Sullivan has given up and essentially naiijg West Ham a “zombie business”.
Im seeing us dropping down to the bowels of the champiinship. The lowest we have been in 70 odd years. Touche Sullivan and top businesswoman Baroness Brady

It feels like Sullivan is determined to run this Club into the ground.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
As we thought a few weeks back, Sullivan has accepted relegation and just putting stories out and a token gesture with a loan. What he did get on with was getting 5 or so players out the door to further reduce the wage bill.
Yet more evidence of why we will never progress under this ownership. We cannot progress even when we do spend.
A failing business, caused by lack of leadership, vision, planning and competence. Step forward David Sullivan, Karen Brady. Other board members complicit in enabling him to run the ground into the championship and knock 300-400 million off its value. Abject failure.

Re: Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread
how is Larsen worth 48m? 1 goal in 23 for wolves. Palace have gone mad.

By the way it's depressingly fucking quiet on the West Ham front. Not a peep aside from the obvious for days Disasi move.

Sullivan is doing the absolute bare minimum to rectify this. It's like he's told Nuno he can have one plaster and he has to choose which of the five gaping injuries to put it on. Everyone else is making moves. Palace, Forest, even Wolves. Gomes going there shoots down Sullivan's bollocks that it's impossible to get decent players in January. It can be done. He just doesn't WANT to do what's necessary to keep the club up. He could do if he committed. As usual for him it's a half measure and a gamble. Even this transfer window there was the move for the strikers right away and then.... nothing. Nothing until the very last couple of days. Once again hedging his bets. It's always all so fucking reactive and last minute and no way to build anything other than maybe short term success.
The excuses and blame will come out. 'Nuno didn't want (insert pound shop sub par quality player courtesy of a friendly agent here)' so therefore he's the villain. 'We tried', 'It's impossible.' when it's been proven it's not. It's also been proven he doesn't need the manager to agree to a transfer before going rogue anyway.
It's all his fault. Every bit. The players, the managers, the results, the mess. And he's going to take zero accountability for it. I hope Nuno says 'Fuck your compo and NDA' and just gives it to him with both barrels when he's inevitably sacked and replaced with a worse and cheaper manager. The squad lacks so much genuine quality that it makes some of the players already here look much worse than they actually are because there are so few that they can rely on to raise their level.
I've said before Mavro ain't such a bad player but he needs somebody sweeping up behind him allowing him to concentrate on forward facing defending which is his obvious strength. When he is isolated and the last man tracking back that ain't his fault. We needed somebody who can compensate for that.
It goes back to our completely disjointed recruitment policy...they just sign players without giving the first thought as to how they will all compliment and bring the best out of each other.
It shouldn't be hard but due to our ownership it always is.
Agree. Far too much poorly scouted mediocrity has come through the doors, dragged down the talent we have had, and they've all except Bowen (and fucking fair play to that man so far) smelled the coffee and left- some through honourable means, but some through shithousery. Yes Alvarez, Paqueta, Aguerd and Kudus- that's you. It's more galling to see good players down tools than to see bang average ones giving their all. And almost every times one of them goes, Sullivan is downgrading.
And bang on with disjointed policy. I swear Sullivan and I've said it before thinks this is still the 90s when a midfielder could just play midfield, and any striker can play in any sort of system as much as another, and any two centre backs can play effectively together. The game has progressed way beyond that. Each position is a specific role needing players not only of that general position but also with specific attributes to fill the roles needed to make the team work. A player just with 'good stats' in isolation at one club isn't going to do the same in another setup given how finely tuned it all is now. And as ever the most versatile ones who actually CAN do it all are the expensive ones we cannot on the whole afford- particularly if we don't even try to get in at ground level when they are young, like the three B's. We don't have the money to poach good, developed players. We have to pay top dollar for players like Fernandes after they've showed promise. As it turns out despite a lot of people saying we overpaid at the time, we probably haven't- but that's a case of the stopped clock being right for once and he is going to go on to be a fucking class player but why would he stick around here when he sees the shambles around him? For every Fernandes there are five gambles that end up being a total waste of money. Poor, poor decision making and a lack of footballing knowledge and hubris and any sort of modern strategy to building a squad is Sullivan to a tee.
