Got 6 games between now and the FA Cup 3rd round.
Villa (H)
Man City (A)
Fulham (H)
Brighton (H)
Wolves (A)
Forest (H)
Really need to start winning some games.
7 points, I reckon

At least 8 . We were ridiculously unlucky to lose on Sunday. Bowens arm was offside. but when can you score with the arm . That rule needs changing. Or better still dump it altogether.

if we are more than 6 adrift in Jan, Sullivan's thoughts may well be acceptance of our fate and how he can maximize what he can get by selling Paqueta and Bowen rather than throwing more money chasing an increasingly unlikely escape. I really hate that cսnt for bringing us to this low and its been coming for seasons now.
To not be in that situation, we need to win 3 of next 4 (after city). Given we have won 2 in 11 (likely soon to be 12) under Nuno it will take a tactical sea change. We have to compete over 90 minutes and take the game to the opposition and not retreat into a defensive shell because we've shown we just cant handle that pressure. I say take the handbrake off and go for it against City, its a free hit, we look much more comfortable pressing higher up the pitch. We'll likely get beat anyway but for FFS if we sit deep, try to park the bus and defend we'll definitely get beat - and who knows, if we go for it a little we may just nick an unlikely point.

just gonna point out that Wolves turned us over with ease in the carabao, not a given we'll get 3 points off them.
We are a far changed side since then, I have to say. Yes it's not a given we'd beat them but I'm supremely more confident than under Potter.

Looking at the three we haven't played -
WHU - Man City, Fulham, Wolves
Forest - Man City, Villa, Fulham
Burnley - Everton, Brighton, Bournemouth
Leeds - Palace, Man U and Sunderland
Fulham - Liverpool, Forest, West Ham
Brentford - Everton, Bournemouth and Wolves
Wolves - Liverpool, Brentford, West Ham
Striking that any team who goes on a bad run of 3 could quickly sink towards the relegation spots, fair few decent head to heads, some teams have no easy games.
Also surprising at the other end of the table to see Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs don't have a single game left against the strugglers, unlike Man City and Liverpool.

If we get 10 points from that lot, I'll be very confident we'll stay up.

We need to be taking 12 points from Fulham, Brighton, Wolves, Forest.
We absolutely can, three home games and the worst team in the league away. Doing it is another matter, but those four games will define the season. Win all four and I’ll start to believe again!

Guess we just gave to hope Jorges Mendes works his magic and gets us a crop of young, up and comming Portugese internationals(u21s)
Absolutely not what we need at this moment.

That for me will be the difference between staying up or going down. Fully entrusting the transfer business to Mendes and Nuno and facilitating it as fast as possible.
I know he wont be able to resist meddling and just put it all in jeopardy for the sake of his own ego and wallet.

Guess we just gave to hope Jorges Mendes works his magic and gets us a crop of young, up and comming Portugese internationals(u21s) like he did at Wolves. But dont be surprised to see Sullivan getting his 58th striker and other big reputation, old and washed up players via Salthouse, Mackay etc “Same as it ever was”

So much depends on Jan and getting a striker and CB and another centre mid unless Nuno belatedly opens up to whats uneer his nose ( Earthy) Irvine and Guido are next to useless for the rest of the season and Soucek no more than a late impact sub.
Sullivan at the helm remains the biggest obstacle. He should listen to Jorge Mendes and / or Max Hahn and not make his usual mistake of thinking he knows anythimg about football or using the window to exercise his “little man syndrome” trying to “nickle and dime” or “penny wise/pounds foolish” every transfer deal. As Scorch and others say, we need a striker lined up on Jan 1st.
Max Hahn ain't done shit apart from keep his mouth shut and not be prominent enough to take the fall for anything- yet. Him getting namechecked when Macauley was chucked under the bus is the worst thing that could happen to him. He's next one out next time a dodgy player or two arrives, or any of the summer signings start looking like liabilities or mistakes. He's the last human shield until they employ another one.

We will not be catching any of those sides, they are all capable and will pick up enough points at their small, purpose built for football home grounds.
You're usually decent on here mate but this is utter waffle.
Let's see where we are after the Forest game. I would bet we'll be pretty close, if not above Fulham and/or Brentford.

looking at Bournemouth's form recently it could actually be them that gets dragged into the bottom 3 by end of Jan
Yeah tbh. Again, Nuno made them look good despite us being 2 up at HT and comfortable.
Although they have a top manager, so think they'll be alright.

Forest will be well out of it. In their last 4 wins in the league, they've scored 10 and conceded 1 with 3 clean sheets (ignoring the couple of defeats in between) that's not a team that are going down, that's proper wins in games where they're on top.
It's us or Leeds. Simple as that. We've just got to hope our reinforcements in January come in within a couple of days of the window, and the team clicks. Not holding out much hope.
Fulham are losing key players for the AFCON and Brentford are a bang average side, who we (Nuno) made look good.
Hopefully they both remain in it.

Those four games after Man City will be the games that determine our destiny .
Minimum 7 PTS required .
Big ask
City are a free hit. Throw the sink at it early and try and nick the lead and give ourselves something to build on. Play park the bus deep and defensive bollocks from the outset and we'll get smashed.
I agree in principle...but when the game kicks off that bullish attitude will disappear very quickly on the terraces if it goes bandy after 10mins .
Wolves are in a position where it's literally shit or bust for them

It's our 'home' form that will do us...what is it now...six (6) losses out of eight.(8).?
Jesus wept that is abysmal.
Ironic really if we go.
