"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"I don't think there are too many issues scoring points Mike, keeping them out is another thing, and a kicker who can kick when it matters"

"oh dear, I really like the defensive line coach who was at 9ers when they had Justin Smith. he's quality and will improve us a lot and it will be good to see how Allen gets on at DE. I'm glad Clemons was kept as he has a lot of potential and hopefully Swearinger stays healthy as he can be a good leader. the run game wil be interesting, loads of options"

"I'm always hopeful Mike, although I don't why The loss of Joe Barry is a huge positive but it is unlikely that you can create a new defence in one close season And now Su'a Cravens wants to retire after 1 season, probably had enough of Synder. Another wasted pick"

"No chance of a positive record for the niners, but not possible to be as bad as last year n0w we've got rid of kaepernick and the other clown and have changed the coach. Very good draft on paper, so we'll see."

"oh dear, all about how well Pryor links up with Cousins. It was an average preseason but I'm still positive. I think we're stronger defensively this year but the biggest miss will be Garcon"

"don't think the 49ers will be anywhere near as bad as last year, have the makings of a decent defence being built, and shanaghan is probably the best offensive coach in the game, Would of been decent to watch if they had someone other than Hoyer back there but he's solid enough to get them to about 5-6 wins and missout on the chance to sign one of the potentially elite QBs that are supposed to be in the draft next year."

"they have about 5 good running backs, most of them are pass catchers rather than runners though. Mike Gillislee will be the main running back, he was McCoy's backup in buffalo last year had about 90 carries but had the highest yards per carry average in the league. Expecting Chris Hogan to have a big big year this year, was more of just a deep threat last year with not many catches but the highest yards/catch in the NFL, he's built his rapport with Brady and now Edelman is out he is looking like stepping in as the slot/possession receiver but he can also throw a double move and be gone behind the defence for a long ball."

"Grumpster - are the 49ers going to be as crap as last season? I've not read too much about them. I'll probably be following the in-laws team again this year if that's the case (the CHIEFS!). Shame we let Smith go to them, as he'd walk into the 49ers team at the moment."

"He's generally 9/2 when fully fit in a season, so figured it worth the risk. Helped the fact I haven't a clue who your running back is at the moment!!"

"Gronk seems ready and raring to go, he'll be brady's comfort blnaket with edelman done for the year, atleast until brady builds up a rapport with cooks, probably wont see gronk at 6/1 again all year"

"There's a lot of talk of NFL players hitting their partners or spouses. It's about time the league looked in to this situation. You can' have this happening with such a publicised sport. NFL please sort out the mouthy, trappy women your athletes are involved with, it's going to ruin the sport."

"Right, time to get excited is it??? Think I'll have to channel my excitement to watching the games themselves, as the Niners won't be giving me too many happy times!!! Is the Gronk all good and raring to go, as I've just stuck £7.50 on him for 1st TD tomorrow at 6/1?"

"I don't know what they've got on Elliott, but they did have video evidence of Rice knocking out his missus. But yeah he does seem like a total wrongun. Of course though he's getting a bit of leway because he's the star player for the biggest team in the league/country, when other players are getting immediate longer bans and fired for similar transgressions. Ridiculous how there's been weeks to sort it out and they can't even get the suspension sorted for week 1. I'm sure the fact the Cowboys are the sunday night primetime game has absolutely NOTHING at all to do with it either..."

"Yeh, Rice didn't even get banned though if I remember correctly and then the video of him knocking his wife out surfaced. No team would touch him after that. Elliot's obvious talent will see him be fine though especially in a cowboys team that signed Gregg Hardy after all the shit he did"

"I had to get rid of winston because of the shit he was alleged to have done in college. Elliott looks like a wroungun, the cսnt should get at least a year ban. didn't the nfl ruin Ray Rice for similar shit"

"if there is even a shred of evidence that Elliot beat his girlfriend then he should be banned for much longer than 6 games. He's obviously a vile person, had multiple reports of him groping women at clubs and video evidence of him doing this and lifting girls tops up. Bold move by Goodell though to piss off Kraft and Jerry Jones in consecutive years, probably the 2 most powerful owners in the league"

"Quite a few are doing this these days. Think they are all realising there is a life after football and it's not worth being a cripple for the rest of it. Especially when you read stories about the struggle some of them have just getting out of bed. If you're not earning the big bucks and you can have another decent career, is it really worth it? In other news I see various bodies of people between them are making an absolute hash of the Elliot situation."
