Went to see Paul Heaton last night at Hammersmith (my missus got the tickets, I'm not a huge fan) and was duly impressed, especially with the female singer (Rianne Downey) who although petit, had quite a set of lungs on her.
It's easy to forget how many hits he's written over the years and although I've never actually bought any of his offerings, I thoroughly enjoyed the live performance.

The Ruts - Love in vain
Listening to that (compared to the reggae served up by The Clash) and watching stuff like In A Rut live in Paris, which I still do every now and then....The Ruts have got to be THE most underated Punk band from that period?
Another tournament we were cheated out of. That was a good Argie team, but we deserved to win
Their penalty and ours should never have been given. Scholes missed a sitter
I gave it up with the national side after 2006 and all that carry on with the hangers on in Germany
why the fuck should I shell out to travel about for those wankers?.
90 was our final bow .
Untouchable firm...so much so they put us on a island and hoped we got knocked out by the paddies
