"Being brought up in an AUD household clearly hasn’t helped you deal with the truth. But you need to face the facts before you move on. So: You’re very unfunny You’ve got bugger-all to say about the real world You’re always away with the fairies on NHS meds You’re offended by anyone who challenges you to get your act together and Any old tramp has more status than you. It’s a tall order so you’d better get your sorry arse into gear. Come on, chop chop petal."

"Dwight Van Mann 1:19 Thu Jan 25 I disagree, there is not enough evidence for a statement like that. In an ideal world, there should be an unbiased investigation (on behalf of the families who lost loved ones) and a possible investigation into a possible war crime. To be honest, there isn't much point, the UN and International War Crimes Committee are completely owned by interested parties who are incapable of acting fairly and independently. At best this was a horrendous accident, that should lead to apologies, compensation and the removal of officers responsible for the decisions made. If politicians lie or cover up, they should be removed from office and prosecuted as well. Either way, yet more people have been killed unnecessarily. People have lost sons, brothers and fathers for no reason."

"More loss of life in war that will drag on until somebody accepts terms that they aren’t happy about. In the meantime loads more will die, tax payers cough up a few more billions and the poorest are exposed to food & energy inflation for the foreseeable."

This should be considered a war crime committed by Ukraine

"Judging by the distance, this was most likely a Patriot or a S-300/400, the range of the IRIS-T would be stretched to cover this distance. We will know in the next day or so. Its a bit odd, because the Ukrainians are saying that there is a lot of military aviation transport in the area, but yet there is a very low incident of these planes being targeted or shot down. I'm guessing its an older IL76 as the latest version has missile decoy systems fitted. But a plane carrying POWs probably wouldn't be deemed to require missile defence as it would have its own IFF system"

"I don’t believe it’s much of a biggie, even for you, Spambottroll3, that they were tricked into killing their own PoW."

"Ukraine now blaming Russia for tricking them into killing their own POW's. ""We currently do not have reliable or comprehensive information on who was on board the plane or in what number,"" Ukraine's national intelligence directorate said in a statement, according to the French news agency AFP. It confirmed that a ""prisoner exchange was supposed to take place"" Wednesday, but said ""Ukraine was not informed about the number of vehicles, routes and forms of delivery of prisoners."" ""It is known that prisoners are delivered by air, rail and road. This may indicate deliberate actions by Russia aimed at endangering the lives and safety of prisoners,"" the directorate said in its statement, adding that Ukraine ""was not informed about the need to ensure the security of the airspace in the area around the city of Belgorod at a set time, as has been done many times in the past."" The fact a second plane with 85 more POW's turned back for safety would indicate this is a desperate narrative."

"OK, sock, no arguments with that, but I would have thought that the Russians would have announced (to the world) that the flight was carrying PoW's for transfer so that the Ukrainians would leave it be. Isn't that agreed practice?"

"This is a tragedy but also it means the Kremlin has lost control of Russian air space anything up to within 200km of the Ukrainian border. There are also reports it cannot mass troops for any effective assault without sustaining severe casualties even prior to engaging, suggesting Ukraine had access to highest-level intel and has the means to deliver serious damage."

"Mike The russians detected the launch of two SAM type missiles from Kharkov oblast and named the location of the site. They have a lot of IL76s, have used them for half a century and they have a good safety record. They use them for all transport (people and freight) as well as modified versions for fire-fighting, others for re-fuelling tankers and also for arctic transport and cosmonaut training."

"I get the impression that the Russians have no idea what happened here - their propaganda machine would have used phrases like ""shot down"" rather than ""crashes"" in their reports, whatever the actual cause - even allowing for western media moderation on the news. Ukraine killing some of their own on their way home as part of a prisoner swap is far too good a propaganda story to pass up on. Gut feeling is that the plane just fell out of the sky due to poor maintenance. Did the planned prisoner exchange referred to actually take place or are the 250 Ivans still in the Ukraine?"
