"Mourinho would be an utter disaster. Luckily it won't happen. For the first time, I'm confident he will be going. My hunch is Fonseca, I know a few aren't keen on him, but I'd be very much on board."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Never wanted Mourinho at West Ham but would take him if it was a choice between him and Moyes. Would also take Gary Oneil, Graeme Potter or Michael Carrick. Not that they would necessarily be overwhelmingly stand-out candidates but because I expect they would at least try and win football matches, rather than trying not to lose."

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Frank McAvennie feels his former club West Ham United should push for the services of Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho. David Moyes’s future at West Ham United has been the talk of the town of late. The 60-year-old could end up parting ways with the Hammers after the end of the ongoing season. West Ham are already on the lookout for a potential replacement, and they have been linked with a few top-quality managers, with Jose Mourinho now being presented as an option. As far as Moyes’s future is concerned, his contract with the Hammers runs out this summer, and he has not penned down an extension yet. With just months left on his deal former West Ham striker Frank McAvennie feels Moyes might not want to stay at the club beyond this season. McAvennie even talked about the potential candidates who could take over from the Scottish manager. While Graham Potter is one of the names on their wishlist, he would like to see Jose Mourinho take the job. McAvennie via Football Insider, “I don’t know if David wants to stay, to be honest. Why has he not signed a new contract by now if he wants to stay? Graham Potter has been mentioned, Jose Mourinho has been mentioned. I’m a big fan of Mourinho – I don’t care what anyone says. That guy knows how to win tournaments and win trophies. He wasn’t good enough for Man United – he only won the Europa League and the cup! Apparently he was a disaster there – really?” “I would love to see him come in. He gets criticised for his negative play, but if Mourinho had that team he wouldn’t be negative. Anyone can see that the defence needs to be fixed. Mourinho is solid defensively – that’s for sure.” Potter made a name for himself on the back of his impressive work at Brighton. He did earn a move to Chelsea but unfortunately, it didn’t go according to plan as he was sacked in April last year. The 48-year-old has been waiting for the right job offer to return to action since parting ways with the Blues. Frank McAvennie wants Mourinho at West Ham Frank McAvennie wants Mourinho to take over from Moyes at West Ham. The Portuguese manager is a serial winner who has won titles with almost every club he has been a part of. He has managed Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United and has had a lot of success during his time in England. The former Chelsea, Tottenham manager has been without a job since parting ways with AS Roma in January. But he has recently said that he is ready to return to action. While he might be criticised for being too defensive, the former Hammers striker feels the kind of players he has at his disposal decide what kind of football his team plays. McAvennie feels Mourinho will be an ideal fit for the club as the defence is what needs to be fixed and the Portuguese manager is someone who is known to have a rock solid defensive base in his style of play. https://thehardtackle.com/reactions/west-ham-united-urged-to-appoint-jose-mourinho-as-david-moyes-replacement/"

I would like Syd the Manager to take over from Moyes HELLO!
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"I don't believe he has been offered a new contract. It would be crazy even if he has his veto removed... he still picks the team. Ex pointed out that the contract talk is all coming from Moyes, nothing from the club and it is all based on 'discussions' rather than an actual contract... can't see it happening, unless we win EL then all bets are off."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
The only way he stays is if we win in Dublin. And he would still have to give up the veto and all the other jazz that comes with the previous contract. It ain’t happening.!

"Unfortunately I think he's staying, his voice in the media has hinted recently that he's going to sign the contract we've offered in the summer, the one with his veto removed. Obviously realises he won't ever get a bigger club than us & despite his disdain for the supporters, he's happy to put that aside for his ego and massive salary."

Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"The key thing in that interview is where Steidten says he wanted overall control and responsibility and that was a big change for himself, Sullivan and Moyes. So it more or less confirms that either Moyes loses his current power of veto over transfers if he stays or Steidten will leave. All he says about Moyes is that he thinks he's noticed that Steidten's work was important and that he learned from Moyes an incredible amount when it comes to perspectives on football, which might just mean that he's never worked with such a old fashioned, negative minded coach before."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
"Not sure how accurate this report is or how credible the reporter but if true it would appear that Moysie and Steidten (spelling) are getting along. As Steidten says it’s a 5 year process to build a squad, doesn’t happen in a handful of windows, if I were a betting man I’d be all in on Moysie staying a while longer and West Ham kicking on a bit next season. I’m thinking Moyes is the pick for next year."
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
Seems strange to hire someone to look all across the globe for a new coach. (That’s what they are looking for.) Then get someone who is right in front of you.? This is Sullivan we are talking about. And the only time he puts his hand into his pocket is if he feels he will make more farther down the line. And getting someone in from the Premiership ain’t it.!

"Iraola would be a good shout. (I know I am based in Bournemouth so naturally biased towards what is happening down here) He has done an excellent job at Bournemouth and theyre playing half decent football. Front foot, fit and fast. With a decent budget and fanbase he coiuld be a good and 'Sulivan worthy' cheap option"

"If I had a gun to my head and had to choose, I'd choose the better manager of the 2 (which isn't Moyes)."

arne slot or claret and blue billy still just for the theatre of it all.
Re: If David Moyes leaves West Ham who would you want to replace him?
If Jose comes back too the Premiership it will be managing Newcastle. He is the type of name their ownership will jizz themselves over. And there is no way Sullivan is buying De Zerbi out of his contract. Especially the price Brighton will be asking. That’s another two names we can scrub off the list. This job easy. Who needs Tim.?

"As football changes you cant keep going back to people who have won things before if they are not able to adapt to how things are now. You kind of need to find the ""next"" new manager with the philosophy to take you forward. As much as I dislike Arteta he has a newer philosophy that when given the resource, has worked, Managers like Jose will find it hard nowadays. Even Tuchel is. Are next manager needs to be a progressive young manager without baggage."
