Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"Anon. That's before he sent her home and killed the lion (or whatever it was), taking all the the credit, without telling anyone she had fatally weakened it for him, right? I know it's tricky for you Anon, but do you understand that through the medium of storytelling in general and cinema in particular it s possible to say, 'all men are bad', without actually using the words, 'all men are bad'. As I said in my first post, I enjoyed it, but it was woke as fuck. Just because the woke is a bit more subtle than elsewhere doesn't mean it isn't woke. How's the transition coming along, hun?"

"I watched the Eiger Sanction on iPlayer yesterday. The BBC deemed it so unawake that it had to putt a warning on how un woke it was. ""Contains discriminatory language which some may find offensive."" Attracted me to it and I like Clint Eastwoord's 70s movies. Great climbing footage."

"Watch "" The Last Duel"" on Saturday. Obvious massive wokery going on but quite a satisfying film as it had a decent amount of sex and violence amongst the woke stuff. Kind of a film for all. The American actors felt wrong in a French tale though."

Watched The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent on the plane last week and really enjoyed it. Just a film taking the piss out of itself and Nick Cage doing the same.

"Anon Every single male character was evil or an oppressor of women of some sort. Including her own brother. Every single one. Not a single Froggie said, 'Hey, let's not rape or kill her' and not a single brave said, 'Let's give her a chance, she's actually quite good' That's woke, buddy. It's the Patriarchy, innit? Silly virtue-signalling person."

"Prey was very good , ""woke"" where was it highlighting injustice .Girl was a tracker and a good one which was not uncommon in them days , I suppose Pochahontas is woke now by some damn pushy women and forced on us by Disney . The fact after every fight the Predator had which was quite a lot(The Bear fight was Great ), it was in pretty bad shape so not unrealistic she could win. It opens more Predator spin offs , how about one in south London , gets hooked on craft Ale and Weed as no one to fight , crush the odd idiot on a moped . They would have to come and rescue him and put him through Rehab ."

"Maybe I watched a different film, but I was expecting Prey to shove a load of GIRL POWER down my throat, yet it never felt like that for me."
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"not sure why it didnt get a theatrical release but its got good reviews from critics and general public, it's certainly better than any that have come since the second"
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
Anon. I haven’t yet seen Prey. And certainly not paying Disney for the privilege. My comments was a dig at Hollywood who hide behind a half decent writer (Cameron.) Piss on any IP it owns. Moan’s about failing revenue. (When 80% of your paying customers are 15-40 year old males.) Then has the gall to blame it on the same people who pay for it.! Disney/Fox couldn’t have thought too highly of it. By not giving it a theatrical release. I mean. It couldn’t have been worse than the last Predator movie.?

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
Anon missed the bit where every single male in the film is evil and actively trying to oppress or kill her. Even her brother. Of course they ALL get their just desserts.
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"RBShorty Watched it yesterday, she didn't really seem like a Mary Sue, she gets bested early in the film and they set up she just observant and learns quick. I get wound up by a a lot of movies anti male narrative too but Prey seemed fine. Besides, she'd be a Mary Sioux get it right"

"'According to The Hollywood Reporter, House of the Dragon is primarily the story of Rhaenyra, played in adulthood by Emma D'Arcy, and Olivia Cooke's Alicent ""navigating paths to power in a male-dominated world, being raised by fathers who don't have a clue how to raise them,' I can't wait..."

Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
"She-Hulk This goes beyond 'woke' to pure man-hating. I have no idea who Disney thinks it's target audience is, but telling at least 50% of them that they are all incompetent, bigoted, rapist inferiors (aka 'the patriarchy - oh, yes) is probably not the best way to get them on board. Also, apparently, Captain America is a virgin and a wimp, Iron Man is a useless drunk, Bruce Banner sucks, Hulk sucks and has always sucked, and She-Hulk is better than him at literally everything. Plus 'girl-power'. Yay!"
Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022)
It’s funny how everyone pulls the Ripley/Connor card out their arse when the subject of woke in Hollywood comes up. Two characters that are pretty much admired by everyone in their first couple of outings. Then are slowly watered down and pissed on when the studio starts having big ideas. Now you get a conveyor belt of Mary Sue’s. In which nobody is interested in at best. And out running get loathed at worse. And the studios are losing money hand over fist. Even Cameron has been reduced to writing about 10 foot Smurf’s. Because he probably can’t be arsed to explain himself every 30 seconds why this character ain’t got this type plumbing. Or is that type of colour. It’s hell in a handcart whichever direction you go in.

Mr Anon No. I see your need to virtue-signal is so strong it outweighs the need to actually know what you are talking about by watching the film. Lazy twat.

"Went to watch Elvis last night, thoroughly enjoyed it! Austin Butler did a great job as Elvis, particularly the Vegas years, you would have thought it was him. Tom Hanks was his usual brilliant self as Col Tom Parker."
