"Speaking of Stallone, I was tempted to watch Samaritan last night, but the reviews for it are pretty shit and put me off it. Anyone seen it on here?"

A few older movies have been added to Netflix. Watched Copland with Stallone last night for the first time in years. Didn't do well at all at the time of release but I'd forgotten what a cracking cast it has and Stallone actually acts in it. A bit slow but looking back I think it's a decent film if anyone hasn't seen it. Uncle Buck in on there as well. I do miss the great John Candy.

"I was going to go and see Bullet, but read a few reviews and decided against it, but if I knew about the West Ham bit.."

"Went to watch Fisherman's Friend 2 last night. If that sort of British feel good film is to your liking, a decent way to spend an hour and three quarters!"

"I watched it in 4DX, first film I've ever watched in 4DX, we all thought it was great."

I'm kicking myself for not watching Top Gun-Maverick on a 4dx screen. I've never watched 4dx before and I guess that movie is made for it. Cinemax looks like they're going bust so I can probably kiss goodbye to seeing one in the not too distant future. I've seen there's a few HD versions of Top Gun online to watch now. So I'll probably give it a go this weekend on the sofa.

"I enjoyed Prey, didn't find it particularly woke either. Especially for Hollywood these days, where every age old fairy tale, is now caused by some bastard of a man first."

"Ha. Fair enough. Watched Top Gun-Maverick the other night. Can see why it’s getting the reviews it has been getting, despite being dubious about it before. Not a big fan of Tom Cruise films usually."

"That's my fault, Jaan. In an attempt to show how nonsensical Surf was on the other thread, I stupidly invited him to kick off on this one when asking him to prove something on Prey. In my defence, I was really bored this morning."

"‘Jaan took three statements from three different people at three different times months apart’ That’s an outright lie, as I proved on the thread in question. Not sure why you are bringing up on here either."

"Trundle Oh I see. This all about you defending Kaiser's idiotic posts. Well, clearly, since it's true IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes do apply an algorithm, I'm allowed to have an opinion on that. I posted a link as evidence of that. On the other hand, Kaiser invented a statement that was factually untrue, tried to pretend that someone actually said it, gave the reason why nobody actually would ever have said it and then demanded a link to where nobody had said it. Meanwhile Rios said it was just Kaiser being terribly clever and Jaan took three statements from three different people at three different times months apart and edited them together to make the statement that Kaiser insisted that nobody would ever say, even though he said that it was being said. Go figure. All that on top of you making an unprovoked attack on me for not liking Prey when I clearly stated I did like it. Which I think is what's provoked all this. Infant."

Trundle How the fuck am I 'hoist by my own petard'. This is an opinion site. Since I didn't put quotation marks around 'dodgy' then 'dodgy' is clearly my opinion. Anyone would think you are just sore that you made a fool of yourself with your 'Prey' post just now.

"Trundle You can enter 'IMDB ratings algorithm in Google' and choose from a myriad of articles. It's precised here on Wiki. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IMDb#User_ratings_of_films 'As one adjunct to data, the IMDb offers a rating scale that allows users to rate films on a scale of one to ten. IMDb indicates that submitted ratings are filtered and weighted in various ways to produce a weighted mean that is displayed for each film, series, and so on. It states that filters are used to avoid ballot stuffing; the method is not described in detail to avoid attempts to circumvent it. In fact, it sometimes produces an extreme difference between the weighted average and the arithmetic mean.' 'Dodgy' is clearly my opinion, based on the ownership of IMDB and my understanding of those articles. Anything else you want to try?"

I’ve never been a fan of marking systems for subjective experience. One person’s 80% is another person’s 60% while feeling similar positivity. Clearly there are hated movies by the large majority but loved by a minority. I dont like any comic book movies so would always mark them as 5%.
