"That type of plane normally transports S300 missiles not prisoners,so clearly used as human shields as Ukraine is taking out quite a few Russia aircraft recently"

Sadly agree with you Sockski.... and just to think if Putin had not made his illegal invasion of the Ukraine in Feb 2020 then they would all still be alive..... probably

Find it quite incredible that Ivan is so stupid enough to ferry around a few Ukranian POW's in a $50m+ state of the art transport plane within shooting range of plenty of UKR SAM range.... not being funny... but all the other footage of prisoner swaps they have been ferried around in the back of a big ol Ivan truck or a Bus...... but now they get the Freddy Laker treatment?? Hmmmmmmm???

"I think this is a tragedy, irrespective of it transpired, that's over 60 people who thought they were going home, but get shot out of the sky en route. Must be awful for their families."

"so this plane of ""POWs"" was within range of Ukrainian AA batteries? Very interesting"

"I think this is exactly the kind of “success” we can expect from the Kremlin in this war. After all, flying a plane full of PoW within range of Ukrainian AA batteries and having it shot down is a logistic operation of such daunting complexity and cunning."

"Lee Trundle 2:07 Wed Jan 24 IL76. That's a very (VERY) expensive way to move (just) 65 people, whatever their status. My suspicion is that if there were exchange PoWs on board then that were regarded as a human shield for whatever made up the rest of the payload."

"Trundle - Russia say it was shot down by Ukraine BBC and CNN say there is no proof of that Pickle , capital man and joyo etc will now believe that in a conflict between Russia and Ukraine in Ukraine a Russian plane was shot down by anyone but Ukraine"

I'm talking about things getting a whole lot worse. My worst fear would be an Archduke Franz Ferdinand type moment. I just hope this isn't it.

"CBE, I would disagree with that. Not for one second arguing that the actions of Hamas in November were anything but despicable and were completely outside the norms of warfare. But that had been provoked for over a year leading up to it, and in the months beforehand, even the US had been asking Israel diplomatically to ‘reign it in’, as far as OTT incursions and settler violence in the West Bank were concerned. The US (and other western countries) were on a slow path to setting up a nuclear agreement with Iran again. S.Arabia had also stepped closer to normalising relations with Iran again. The civil war in Yemen was nearing an end. Israel didn’t like any of the above. If the US and west eventually increase hostilities/go to war with Iran, it should be on their terms. And not because Israel has deliberately and methodically provoked it."

"A Russian Il-76 aircraft carrying 65 Ukrainian prisoners of war to be exchanged, crashes near Belgorod on the border. I wonder if this could be the event that really kicks it all off? Easy for either side to blame one another for shooting it down."

"Think Hamas were duped into triggering this - they are at least the victims of their own extremist ideology, as are the people of Gaza."

"Regardless of whether Biden and the Americans are on the right side in Gaza, in Ukraine they are. It should also be remembered that the Gaza war is happening because Hamas want it. That they have bitten off more than they can chew is their own fault."

When Biden is in conflict with Netanyahu and Likud exactly on the issue of the US administration’s at least overt condemnation of the Gaza genocide. I very much hope Biden is under all sorts of pressure at home to take an even firmer approach to the nutjobs in Tel Aviv. As do all he protesters in Israel as well.

"This is getting awkward now More and more Americans are turning against Biden and his support of genocide in Gaza and yet the likes of hammer, capital man, joyo etc are still clinging on to the CNN narrative that Biden and America are the good guys. Stop watching television boys. You might see something"

"“The decree, signed by the president late last week, allocates funds for the search, registration, and legal protection of Russian property abroad, including property in the former territories of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. This would include Alaska, swathes of eastern and central Europe, large chunks of central Asia, and parts of Scandinavia.” Seems ever ultra-nationalist Russian bloggers get it. Perhaps the can even read a text and come to their own conclusion about it."

"The report even says the only people who really interpret this as ""a foundation for future revanchism against Russia's neighbors"" are Russia's ultranationalist bloggers. Is that what you are, Hamas & Pickled? It would make a lot of sense."
