Re: Potter Out
Tbh if we carry on like this I wouldn't have an issue with sacking Potter at the end of the season. On what I've seen I don't think he has what it takes to take us into Europe.
As others have commented Pereira has turned Wolves aroound with the same players.

Re: Potter Out
He's coming back from a serious injury. I assume by limiting his minutes particularly in a low expectation game like Liverpool away, he's being primed for a start on Saturday.
Lopetegui I think didn't play him out of spite as a TS player, but Potter has used him basically every opportunity since he took over.

Re: Potter Out
I don't get the story with Fullkrug and why he's not getting more minutes on the pitch. I can only think the club want to keep him fit and uninjured so he can be sold this summer. to recuperate some money.
Re: Potter Out
A few "crumbs of comfort" from yesterday's defeat but focusing solely on Potter's results since he's been at the club you have to say its been pretty dismal.
I like many others am willing to give him the summer transfer window and pre season before writing him off as the latest dud appointment. We are passing the ball about a lot better and keeping possession better no doubt. We are also looking far less open / vulnerable defensively. But we are still unable to progress the ball through the middle third. And being without a proper centre forward most weeks (for more than 45 mins at best), we are also limited with trying to go more direct via longer diagonals or balls over the top of midfield from defence. Van Dyke and Konnate yesterday unsurprisingly won 95% of balls launched to Bowen and Kudus.
It all depends on who we get in summer for central midfield and the forward areas. Its clear to me now that you cannot pick a West Ham, centre mid pairing to compete with any team in the Premiership from who is available in our squad. Even playing 3 in that area we look a yard short, lightweight and cannot press or get near a lot of the opposition teams who now all have very quick, athletic players in that area of the pitch. This also results in us not being able to create openings through the middle or have players that can break thru the opposition press and run through into the attacking third of the pitch, What on earth was the thinking of Moyes, once Rice went, Lopetegui and Steidten? None of them could see the blindingly obvious problem. And that coupled with the failure to recruit a replacement for Antonio, has rendered our team, quite rightly, as the 4th worst in the division. Could Potter or any other manager improve results? Possibly but only by going back more to a Moyesball extreme low block, low possession game and countering from 30% of the ball. The downside of that for Potter I guess would have been to delay playing more with the ball until after the summer. And besides, he has the luxury of not being in the relegation fight so probably just using the last few games to get the style or system of play in place and working out who he wants to keep.
Anyway just got to hope that Potter and Macaulay see the above problems which many fans have been highlighting for a long while. The first and biggest barrier to Potter improving us now though is Sullivan again. He is the "negotiator" on deals once more. I will be highly surprised if we get many of Potter and Macaulay's picks. But if we do get some of them, we will soon know if they are the right profile. We need youth, pace and physicality.
The "sword of damocles" is perched above Potter's head right now. By Sept we will know if it needs to be released. I have the odds on him at 50:50 edging towards 60:40 against currently.

Re: Potter Out
Can somebody tell Potter that a game of football lasts for 90 mins and not 45? The fella only plays the second half. Gallant losers against a side that have lost 3 in 4? Leave the cսnt up there.

We absolutely have to beat Southampton, I can't read another load more 'we looked good in the second half but the ref was shit' posts. No fucking excuses, they are diabolical, worse than us, which is some feat.
Take a breath eerie .
It's WHU ...it's what we are.
ALWAYS has been .
EVERY time we have something going on ,the small time incompetence from those running the club is always the same ..they can't handle success.

Re: Potter Out
And again, regardless of what you thought of Lopetegui (I thought he was shit) we were 13th when he got pumped. So the argument that we've improved is based on this perception we somehow look better, just because we're conceding less. We're also scoring a lot fucking less.
We're now 17th, behind fucking Wolves who you've bigged up, conveniently forgetting they were as bad as the 3 bottom teams before he their new manager rocked up, yet with HIS players, he has improved them beyond recognition.
West Ham are not allowed to improve though. We'll just make the same excuses for Potter, week after week.

Re: Potter Out
His first job was to stop the flow of goals going into our net and he has done that.
Next job inject some pace into midfield.

We haven't put a good performance together under Potter, we have had some good halfs of football, usually in the second half after being diabolical in the first half. One of his wins, the 3-2 against Fulham, they played us off the park.
'We played well second half, could've got a point if it weren't for the ref'
Rinse & repeat..

We won away at Newcastle, it was a better performance than today, we won and didn't just have a good go and lose..

I broadly agree with this... and you could argue that we also deserved to get something at both the Champions elect and at Wolves, one of the league's form teams, and that we deserved to win at Everton, whereas many of Lopetegui's wins were very fortunate and very much against the run of play. That was his stock in trade

If supporters want miraculous improvement at the club. Then Surely the guns need to be pointed at the potless gnome instead of the managers . Who appointed lopetegui and who has failed in every single January transfer window since 2010 . DWARF OUT.

You've said that after every fucking game.
We were 13th I think when he took over, we're now 17th, behind fucking WOLVES, who looked like having a relegation scrap before the new manager took them over.
Since our manager took over, in any other season, he would have dragged us into a relegation battle with his absolutely diabolical points return.
Every other team are allowed to improve, but not us. We're not allowed to improve since he came in, because 'they are not his players'.
Still, at least we continue to look good in the second half of games and still not win.
