NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"His blocking was the reason why Gore was so productive for so many years. If you get the best out of him, he's an absolute beast."

"Legend is big Verne and he got 55 TD's for us and there was no other tight ends with as good yards after catch as he had, including Gronk. Not sure about his attitude though, as he fell out with someone at the Niners (probably Harbaugh) and was seriously underused after that. Christ even Vance McDonald got more game time!!"

More huge new over the last couple of days!! Eagles have given up a ton of picks to move up to the number 2 overall spot int he draft - can bet your life that the first 2 picks will now be Wentz and Goff. Carolina have rescinded the franchise tag for Josh Norman meaning the best cornerback in football last year is now a free agent!

Word around the league is that the Rams like Goff more than Wentz so this could be interesting.

Tennessee have played a blinder. With a solid draft. (One of the better one's in the last few years.) They could be contenders in the next couple of years.? As for the Rams. They needed to make a statement of intent. But it's a big gamble.? And what about Carson Wentz.! Goes to bed Wednesday night thinking. (Oh well. Going to play in Cleveland. But at least the pay will be good.) To waking up to find your'e most likely going No1. And playing in LA.!

"luckily for them it will be Les Snead making the pick who seems like he actually knows what he is doing, baffles me that Fisher still has a job, only coach in history if im correct to go 5 years with the same team without a winning record and still have the job."

that cսnt fischer didn't know what to do with all the picks we gave the rams so I wouldn't have faith in him getting anything right with the number one pick

"couldn't help but laugh reading all the comments on the smith articles, bat shit crazy yanks trying to defend why they should be allowed guns. ""he could of just killed him with a knife if he didn't have a gun"" ""not from 20 yards away he couldn't"" ""he could of got himself a bow and arrow instead, getting rid of guns will change nothing!"""

"The Rams are mental to do this unless Wentz or whoever they pick turns out to be the reincarnation of Peyton Manning, and they get at least one Super bowl out of this. I suppose they need to make a splash, what with moving to LA and all that, but it's so much to give up unless it's for a once in a generation talent."

This thread reminded me. Ex-Saints player Will Smith was shot in New Orleans this week. Loved my visit there but not a place I would want to live.

"I know he's old, but Boldin was the only decent receiver we had, so unless Kelly manages some miracles, gonna be another long season for us, especially with the Kaepernick move to the Bronco's falling through. Shame, I'd offered to drive him there as well."

"titans didn't really need the number 1 pick as they have their QB, good trade for them as they have lots of holes to fill throughout the roster. that AFC South could be sneaky good this year."

That is a very expensive gamble! But I suppose some of it may be a marketing thing too? Possibly? Puts the Titans in a nice position though.

Huuuuge trade!! The Rams have traded a shit load of picks in this year and next year to move up to the number 1 overall pick! could be a decent team if they get a franchise QB! In other news the schedule was announced last night! looks like a tough one for the Patriots! playing the NFC West and AFC North!

"couple of big moves by the Patriots, trading away chandler jones and then trading for martellus Bennett. I like both moves, Jones is in the last year of his contract and with Hightower, Collins and Butler to sign to big deals I think Jones was going to be the odd man out, so to get a 2nd round pick and someone who can potentially help the O-line is a good move IMO. Love the Bennett trade, not sure how teams are going to stop the 2 tight end sets with Gronk and Bennett, both good blockers too."
