"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

Cornerback is where you unfortunately really get your pants pulled down over money as well. Especially in free agency.

I hope we spend most of our cap signing cornerbacks and safetys. if we don't finally sort our secondary we may as well not bother next season

"The most recently signed good player at any position is almost always the highest paid. Especially when the salary cap goes up and teams have a lot of money to spend. It's almost never a completely true reflection on who is ultimately the best. More a reflection of inflation. Joe Flacco was the highest paid QB in the league for a while after he signed his current deal- until the next player in the upper tier of that position signed a better deal. When the next good DE hits free agency or signs an extension, he will become the highest paid, as will Watt once more when his contract talks come round. Bottom line is that if you need to acquire upper tier players in free agency, you know you'll over pay. It's almost a penance for poor/unfortunate choices in the draft and team management."

"As a Giants fan. It's a needs must situation. Never been a fan of free agency. It is a quick fix that hardly works. But we got a shit load of salary cap that needs togo. And Jerry Resse needs to get a winning season on his CV.,"

"I think we (skins) could be fucked if it's true we only have $16m cap space. I can't see how that's the case after releasing so many players but if true, I can't see us making any moves at all. what a fuck up"

"apparently he just stopped returning the calls from both the organisation and the players, obviously hurt his feelings when they benched him for Manning, who at the time was probably the worst QB in the league. don't think the Broncos were willing to offer him as much either. Can see Fitzpatrick going to the Broncos now"

surprised Brock left. either showing off after being benched or Elway's not offered enough money. strange decision either way
