Euro 2024 - Inc Southgate resignation

"We seem to have an England v Bosnia thread but not an actual Euro 2024 thread so here it is So, do we realistically think England can win it? On paper we obviously have a very talented squad but I just don't see us going all the way. For me it's ""same old"" when it comes to England. Breeze the group, favourable draw in last 16 and win then up against far superior opposition in the QFs and out. At best I can see us at the SF stage before being beaten again. Winners for me: France, Portugal, Spain Dark horses: Germany - even though it's a home tournament they've been in a consolidation period, could go close Biggest flops: Scotland - no goals scored Top goalscorer: Mbappe I'm just hoping it's a decent tournament with plenty of decent games that's not ruined by VAR (are they using it?) consolidation period but could go close"

The good news is that this is the end of Southgates managerial career. The bad news is that it will probably be the start of his punditry at the BBC. A match made in hell.

When it comes to teams winning trophies Harry Kane is a Jonah of a player.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink on the bench Likely to be more mobile than Kane

"it's amazing how similar he is to moyes, surely the cսnt knows he has to save his own job yet persists with the same failed tactics/formation/line up"

Soutgate is a rabbit in the headlights and a natural born coward. Doesn’t have a clue what to do. Foden well offside

No changes. Smacks forehead in frustration. And definite offside

Kane has been shit again too. I said before the tournament we were shit and we are. Southgate's last game if we lose. Every cloud. Knowing the FA they'll probably appoint Lampard or Gerrard next though.

"Ok. So what do we think he should do vs what he will do? Mainoo and or Bellingham off, foden to 10 and Gordon on the left. Saka off and palmer or Bowen on. Bellingham might well get himself sent off. Also he’s been fuckjng shit. What he will do is leave it exactly the same apart from changing Saka for palmer in a straight swap."

Players are overhyped by some saying we are favourites for the tournament when they aren't likely to win a tournament. We blew the best chance we had back in 2021.

"The one good thing coming out of this is that those of us who have called Southgate a fraud for years are being vindicated. He might get lucky by making wholesale changes at h-t but the dye has been cast. Btw, get the egotist Bellingham out of the way and things might improve."

"Mainoo hasn't worked either. No width again on the left, now being booed every time Trippier and Foden come back inside. Why the fuck he just doesn't put Foden at 10, Bellingham at 8 and Gordon LW as the entire world knows he should. Fucking idiot."

"Why aren't these players as effective as they are at their clubs? Because with England they aren't surrounded by World Class foreigners, plus coached by a decent manager!"

"Dixon goes mute when Saka loses the ball again Half time changes to what the starting line up should have been- Gordon for Foden Palmer for Saka Watkins for Kane TAA for Trippier, Walker to left back"

"the thing is he doesn't have to courage make the changes needed. saka's been anonymous, foden & bellingham can't play in the same team and kane would rather be playing anyone but centre forward. I'd bring on palmer/bowen, gordon and toney at HT"
