Yes not sure why I do this, but it's West Ham, we're West Ham and I think we should cover it all here not just the 1st mens team. I can't ecept that we ignore the women, for whatever reason. Probably just me meeting my wake equlity needs, so at least I'm kind of happy with it! Hope Leonard has got over his tantrum and can avoid opening the thread in the future.
Also there's a chance we get this season's first womens win today...

Fraser is.
I know because he told us
so.
Blackburn rovers away .
he was giving it large in his pants and Lonsdale vest at half-time ..telling everyone how his missus is the goal hanger for Sidcup ..he also said his missus will one day soon be payed the same as the blokes.

Tottenham Hotspur Women 2-1 West Ham United Women
Bizarre own goal by Sáez in injury time to gift the win to Spurs. A bit sickening. Remain bottom of the table. Completes a weekend of sad 3 defeats for U21, men and women.

FA Womens League Cup tonight
Wednesday 2nd October:
West Ham United Women 19:00 Portsmouth LadiesChigwell Construction Stadium
Why are Portsmouth Ladies and us Women?
Well, Ladies don’t play football and that why they lost 6-1 to the women. ⚒⚒

West Ham United Women 1-1 Liverpool Women
Yes, good point to get us going. We're 10th in the league.
Goals
West Ham United: R. Ueki (85') Goal 85 minutes
Liverpool: O. Smith (7') Goal 7 minutes Assists S. Haug (7')
Not much difference in that respect. I’m struggling to enjoy the men’s game these days, but at least we have the occasional good experience.

I’ve got no interest in the women’s game. Not because I think the standard is bad, or because I think there’s no place for women’s football, but they have turned the English league into a mini-league for the big six.
Along with a few other clubs, we are there making up the numbers. I think we should all leave and create our own league and leave the big six to it.
And the difference to the mens league is....?

It will never fully take off if it's 11-a-side played on full size pitches, with the teams being under the same name as the mens, i.e. West Ham ladies. That is the brutal truth.
You are not going to sell a product that is the 'same' as a product that has existed for as long as it has, and been as successful as it has, and is categorically so much better on every conceivable level. That's just cold hard facts, people are not gonna watch West Ham mens and West Ham ladies, not enough people anyway.
It needs to be smaller pitches and goals, 9-a-side, 10 regional teams in the league, and make them franchises. Suddenly, you've peaked interest, and you'll have a say 2 London teams which will bring in more fans, absolutely guaranteed. You could not pay me enough money to watch women's football as it is, but I'd definitely give that a go at the very least.
They won't do it, of course, but everyone is obsessed with I'll judged 'equality'. What you should want is for it to be successful, and it simply won't be long term because no one will watch it when there is the same product available, 1000 times better, and there's already too much of that available as it is.

The men's game has had over a century to develop/evolve - a great majority of that time was media-free.
Seems like some are determined to cram an equivalent evolution of the women's game into less than a decade - it's like expecting a j-j-j-jellyfish to give birth to Albert Einstein.
The basic point is that if it was any good, people would be attending games in droves - they don't need some twat telling them "it's good", they can work that out for themselves and either keep going to games or watch paint dry.

Trouble is the finances are not there. The cost of having a team in the WSL is more than the revenue you can make. Therefore, needs to be paid for by other revenues, the men, which onviorusly favours the bid six or teams with more money. I forget who it was, but a team folded at the end of last season, just could not continue, backrupted by the requirements needed to participate in the WSL. They should take a step back and reduce the costs of participation.
