What is the format for PL2
There will be only one division made up of clubs with Category One Academies. At present there are 26 such clubs. Teams: Arsenal, Man Utd, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Blackburn Rovers, , Newcastle United, Brighton, Norwich, Chelsea, Nott'm Forest, Crystal Palace, Reading, Derby County, Southampton, Everton, Stoke City, Fulham, Sunderland, Leeds United, Spurs, Leicester City, West Brom, Liverpool, West Ham United, Man City, Wolves. Those teams will be divided into five pots based on performances over the past three seasons. Fixtures will be determined by a draw made according to clubs’ positions in the five seeded pots. There will be 20 Match weeks, with each team playing 20 regular-season matches throughout the season. Teams will play each club in their own seeding pot once, as well as three to five teams in all other pots either home or away. Results (three points for a win and one point for a draw) will generate a table ranking the 26 teams. After the regular season of 20 Match weeks has completed, the top 16 teams will qualify for a single elimination playoff. Teams will be drawn against each other based on their league positions, for example the team finishing first facing the team that finished 16th. These will be one-off elimination matches with the higher-seeded team at home. In addition, the teams finishing the regular season in the top 12 will be invited to take part in the next season’s Premier League International Cup competition.

Apparently no streams as it clashes with Brighton v Southampton and any streaming would obviously leave the Premier league out of pocket as the masses tuned in to our U21 fixture. Incredible insecurity from Premier league cunts.

Return of the U21s this evening and hopefully a return to winning ways to dispel conspiracy theories and a jinxed tread! Please be sure not to tread on the cracks in the pavement.

Wolverhampton Wanderers U21s 1-0 West Ham United U21s
Disappointing, I fancied us to beat a midtable Wolves. We have slipped to fifth, now 3 points behind leaders Man City. However, just 1 point off 2nd placed Brighton. Very tight.

Re: Premier League 2
Good thread this Mex, I like to keep and eye on the U21's and if I was in the UK I would pop along sometimes to watch, cheap to get in have a pint and a bit of banter. As with Moyes though it doesn't like Lop has any interest in the kids. Wonder why Orford wasn't loaned out?

Resilient Hammers edge Chelsea to claim top spot in PL29 hours agoWest Ham United U21s 3-2 Chelsea U21s
Premier League 2, Rush Green Stadium, Friday 27 September 2024, 7pm BST West Ham United U21s secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Chelsea at Rush Green Stadium, moving to the top of the Premier League 2 table. The win sees the Hammers leapfrog Arsenal, having been tied on points before kick-off.Despite Chelsea controlling most of the possession, West Ham's clinical counter-attacking with a brace from Emeka Adiele and a second-half strike from Sean Moore proved decisive. The match kicked off at a brisk pace, with Chelsea almost immediately taking the lead when Tyrique George beat the offside trap and found himself one-on-one against Fin Herrick, but his effort sailed well over the bar.Moments later, West Ham made the Blues pay for that miss. Adiele capitalised on Chelsea's high defensive line, racing onto a perfectly weighted ball over the top from Ezra Mayers. After outpacing his marker, Adiele confidently finished past oncoming goalkeeper Max Merrick to give West Ham the lead in the fifth minute.Chelsea responded with pressure of their own but struggled to break down a resolute West Ham defence. Despite controlling possession, the Blues were unable to convert their chances in the opening exchanges.Midway through the first half, West Ham doubled their lead. Once again, Adiele exposed the space behind Chelsea's left flank. Tyron Akpata played a well-timed ball to release the wing-back, and Adiele repeated his earlier feat, lifting the ball over Merrick for his second goal of the game. The Hammers could have put the match beyond reach before the break, but Kamarai Swyer one-on-one effort was denied by Chelsea goalkeeper Max Merrick. On the stroke of half-time, Chelsea took advantage of that let-off as Donnel McNeilly headed in from a Harvey Vale corner to give the visitors a lifeline going into the break.West Ham came out strongly in the second half and quickly restored their two-goal cushion. Sean Moore was sent through on goal by Lewis Orford, and the winger made no mistake, cutting inside onto his favoured left foot before slotting it past Merrick to make it 3-1.The Hammers had further chances to extend their lead, with Ollie Scarles and Orford both going close. Chelsea, however, continued to probe and found a late goal through captain Vale in the 87th minute. With Scarles down injured, Chelsea exploited their temporary numerical advantage, and Vale coolly found the far corner from inside the box to set up a nervy finale.Despite sustained pressure and ten minutes of stoppage time, West Ham held firm, seeing out the game to secure their fifth straight Premier League 2 win continuing their 100 per cent record.

Doing the women's league thing I figured we should have a Premier League 2 thread. We are flying in the league! A lot of you know a lot about our academy and I hope you help me out.
