Who do you want to be our next manager?

I know it’s hard to nominate when any decision would be made by the utter pillock Sullivan but …
I’d like to see us take a chance on a young English manager like Michael Carrick

There’s zero plan from the top, they just throw some shit at the wall and hope that some of it sticks.
And whoever comes in will bring their own team in with them at a great cost.

There's no point in having Steiden.  I'm not entirely convinced he's the Pearl Diver everyone thinks he is either, but that's for another thread.

I like the idea of Conceicaio because of the spirit & mentality his Porto team had, but I’m convinced it will be Terzic.

So for me, its looking like it will be Tersic or Conceicaio.
Assuming they shock us and sack Lopetegui, I agree that they won’t buy a manager out of his current contract. Was hoping Potter might get it but people here now saying he won’t be considered.

Potter - Chelsea.

It's a no from me!
Potter was given neither the time or proper support from the board at Chelsea (although they appear to have learned that lesson).

If he comes here (BIG if) and if Sullivan desists in his fucking micro-managing the team (even BIGGER if), he could do well here.

Otherwise I'd go for the bloke at Lyon for a remaining season of "Death or Glory/Who Dares Wins" football.
Potter/Carrick/Iraola/ the porcho are the types who would have been ideal in the summer.
halfway through the season we need an ALPHA to sort these fannies out

I have no faith in the slightest that the club would appoint a decent manager.
A question though, (I despise Spurs but) Ange plays decent football, attacks and doesn't really care.
If he was at West Ham, he won 50/50 matches and we was mid to top half how long before fans complain that isn't good enough (as they will at Spurs)
What do we really want and expect from a manager? If it is to get half decent results at times get Moyes back in (I will say he bored me to death) but fuck me he had more idea than this clown
Ange would thrive at WHU...natural fit imo.
Spurs expect him to be their  latest

Compensation for Lopetegui’s extensive backroom staff is a factor in the decision-making.

And there you go.

Frank has been excellent at Brentford and I like him. He'd probably do well at West Ham, given some time and resources. He's also been overlooked for the supposed "big" jobs that came up - like Man Utd. So he's unlikely to leap over to a current top-five club any time soon, which means he might be more interested in the likes of us.

But he's under contract until 2027 - and he's on decent wages even at Brentford - so we'd have to pay good money for him. Which probably means Kretinsky having more of a say than Sullivan!

This is not an exhaustive list, but I'd definitely have Frank, Carrick, Allegri (ironically, a bigger risk despite his achievements, as he's never managed in England), and a couple of others on our chart. Of the unemployed bargain bins so adored by Sullivan, the likes of Schmidt and Terzic will probably feature. Although, having said that, isn't Allegri currently unemployed?

Instinctively, despite Italian heritage, I sort of feel like West Ham has a more northern European flavour as a club. So I'd lean towards a manager from here, Germany, Denmark, Netherlands etc - and not Spain, Italy or fucking Israel again (!). They also tend to speak better English and we're in proper shit, so communicating with the players from day one will be key. No more mumbling dads on dress-down Fridays.

ChatGPT Summary of the latest from ExWHU:

Julen Lopetegui's future...decision expected within 72 hours.

The club is exploring potential replacements and has not stated the backing of the manager when asked, signaling a departure from their usual support for under-pressure managers.

Sporting director Tim Steidten has advocated for a new manager since early in the season, with boardroom opinions now split.

Poor results, player disputes (Todibo, Fullkrug, Kudus, Areola) and doubts about Lopetegui’s ability to recover have heightened concerns.

Potential candidates considered include Kasper Hjulmand, Roger Schmidt, Sebastian Hoeness, Graham Potter, and Sérgio Conceição.

Gareth Southgate and Michael Carrick are also under consideration, with Carrick favored by at least one board member. Sullivan remains a fan of Cooper.

Massimiliano Allegri has ruled himself out, and some candidates are wary of working under Steidten’s model.

A short-term appointment until the end of the season is being considered as a potential solution.

Lopetegui is still expected to lead training tomorrow, with no alternate arrangements made so far.

Compensation for Lopetegui’s extensive backroom staff is a factor in the decision-making process.

More is expected to become clear tomorrow.

I am not the Potters' biggest fan. Brighton has probably improved since he left, but despite that, I think, given where we are at, we need someone to come in and clearly communicate to a disparate bunch of talented players what it takes to play as a team, to create an identity for the group.

I think giving an assistant role to someone like Noble or even Nolan would help the problem of identity. I also think that the likes of Potter and Noble/Nolan know what it takes to go to teams like Leicester and win on a cold winter's evening better than managers like Conceicoa. Terzic has some experience of this  and has been around West Ham so he would be my second choice. But with Potter having not succeeded  at Chelsea I feel he might be the one with most to prove.  Ajj of which means it will be none of the above that get the job.

Our squad have no leaders..none.
The wrong appointment in Loppy with intentions good.
It's too late in the season already for the likes of nice fellas  like Carrick and Ireola.

WE NEED A cսnt IN CHARGE  WHO WILL  BRING IN A COUPLE OF FELLOW CUNTS IN JANUARY TO RUFFLE SOME FEATHERS.
US AND SOUTHAMPTON ARE THE TWO EASIEST SIDES TO PLAY AGAINST

I also like Thomas Frank ; some shrewd buys that fit well in his squad, and an unstarry but effective midfield

the ship has sailed  already on ideology...we don't have the manager.. or  the squad of mutes to pull it off
Its now about survival and shithousing our way to mid-table with a couple of no-nonsense signings in January to put a few noses out of joint

Say what you like about Mourinho, but you rarely hear of his players having no respect for him. He seems almost universally loved by those who have worked with him.

His style isn’t perfect, but Roma fans didn’t mind it.

Do wonder if he would be the epitome of “he’s a bit of a cսnt, but he’s our cսnt” with him here.

Not very forward thinking though. Don’t hate the idea of Carrick. Quite like the idea of Frank if it has to be premier league experience, albeit Brentford shift a few goals too. Think Terzic would be another disaster based on nothing but gut feel. Not sold on Potter. Both Brighton managers after him have been better.

Maybe we could ask Tony Bloom for his list.

We need a cսnt in charge who will instantly command respect.
Jose Mourinho is that man.
not ideal by any means, in an ideal world I'd like Iraola or Carrick, but not with the players we have.

Jarrod Bowen is increasingly cutting a forlorn figure... he reminds me of Joe Cole as skipper under  Grant.

WE NEED A LEADER WITH A PAIR OF  BOLLOCKS..NOW...

Pay the money Silva or Frank  proper managers who understand this division inside out and would see a move to our club as a step up and do it now.
