Summer Transfer Window 2025 | Official Thread

May as well get going with this since with Sullivan at the helm, season ticket renewals slow, and the football vacuum to commence, this will soon be all the "news" there is.
Can Potter and MacCauley pull multiple rabbits out of the hat, or will Sullivan 'try really hard' with all of them before grabbing a few aging bargains from Big Willie Salthouse?

Every time I saw KWP play for Southampton he was either poor or very poor.
There is a reason that club was so terrible last season: they had only a few decent players. Walker-Peters wasn’t one of them. He’s a Championship player.
We don’t need a squad full of poor freebies.

In my opinion we have to work the team around Bowen...I'd keep Emerson, Soucek (never thought I would say that),Wan-Bissaka,Fullkrug and maybe Summerville...the rest are dross....
Its a huge overhaul but Im giving Potter one season to at least make it worth going over to LS.
Hard my season ticket since we moved here and renewed a few weeks back,Im probably going to regret it.
TBH ,Im East Ham born and bred and followed WHU for 60 years ,the club runs through my veins (and my kids) but Im just losing the will to go anymore. Its so sad.

Kyle Walker-Peters anyone?
Also Harry Winks wants to come back to London, could be a decent squad player.

We're gonna need extra cover at fullback, as AWB will be missing a lump whilst playing in that amateur competition that has to be held every 2 years, instead of every 4 like a proper competition.

Walker-Peters, a full-back who is equally inept at defending on either flank.

We seem to have been linked with KWP forever. On a freebie, he would be a good signing. Like AWB, he can play on either side.
Harry Winks - no thanks.
Walker-Peters? 28 - check, Free transfer - recently relegated - check
Yep, he certainly ticks all our transfer bingo results.

Harry Winks is a dismal crab. How on earth he ever played for England I don’t know
Abysmal at Leicester who have rightly binned him
AVOID

Never forget the time I spoke to a Spurs fan who knew Harry Winks and his old man well when we got on the subject of how good Rice is years ago. "Yeah, but he aint no Harry Winks!", he guffed.
£105M with a trophy under his arm and countless England caps later..

Harry Winks would lose in a race to Guido Rodriguez.

Not too many reasons to be cheerful looking ahead to next season
Would take 17th right now with the bullshitter Sullivan in charge

Yep, unfortunately its going the way I thought. Although, anyone who has followed West Ham for a few years thinks similar.
Nothing will happen in terms of inbound players until mid August at the very earliest. For a start we will have had to sell Kudus, Aguerd, Emerson and one other to gave funds. Most of our incoming players will be the last week or so of the window once the season is in full flow and we will pick from whats left which in sullivan’s head equates to bargains, freebees, has beens, cheaper, older experienced Prem players on the books of agent contacts of Sullivan. Thats how he has always done business. Potter and Macaulay will be lucky to get one of their identified picks. Ignore all rumours, web sites , media until we have sold 2 or 3 in about 4-6 weeks time hopefully. Of course if we dont sell Kudus etc then expect no one coming in other than freebies who are out of contract. Brownhill I suspect is one that we will see.

*Sticks head in thread
See even the rumour mill has pretty much given up on us

apart from another "wonderkid" why the fuck do we keep doing this every summer, signing some kid, bigging them up as the next Pele only for them to be forgotten by the end of the year, seems a tradition now
