Daily Quiz anyone?

Post easthammer »

"If you are stuck at home and bored like me. How about exercising the old grey cells? I have for a number of years run quiz nights and couple of times a year. I was due to do one tomorrow which is now cancelled So I have a bank of questions sitting in my computer's hard drive. They are quite eclectic in their nature. I am thinking I could put up a set of questions for which you write down your answers. After 30mins or so I will put up the answers. DO NOT POST YOUR ANSWERS. before I post the right answers. You mark your own answers and post your score. I will then record the scores and at the end of the ""lockdown"" we will see who is WHO's brainbox supreme. Obiviously no looking up the answers (you only cheat yourselves) Word of warning these won't be easy questions as they have been devised for teams of six. Forming teams on here might be too problematic. So I'll try to pick out the easier questions. Any interest?"

"10 today thanks. Woolworths and MFI were guesses really. It is weird how your brain works sometimes, Northern Rock was a result for the Treasury as the ""bad bank"" loan book they took on turned out not to be a liability at all. It turned a very healthy profit for us tax payers."

"Far Cough I vaguely remember the Cyril (Lord) one. And certainly, I remember that in his early days, he was a bit lightweight. In fact, I can remember that the crowd didn't always cheer when he was announced as being in the team. But that should be a lesson to all of us when players first come into the side to cut them some slack. Although of course he was only about 18 when he first made the 1st team."

L scored 6 and it really should have been more. Sir Trev and I share the same birthday ( although I am a year older ) Pity you didn't ask that! As I have related on here in the past He and Hilkka (so no problem with Q10) visited my Son-in-Law in his battle with a brain tumour and spent an evening at the family home. I am not big on collecting West Ham memorabilia but I do have a signed shirt on the wall and a signed book of his on the bookshelf. The last time I was in his company was about 5 years back when he met with my grandson who was a mascot at the LS and he went along after my daughter contacted him to remind him he had met her husband when he was dying and that it would be great if he could speak to him on the day. Ever the gentleman he did. For many of the families of the other Mascot Sir Trev's visit was a highlight. PS I didn't know the nicknames either!
