Making any kind of symmetry between the Kremlin and Ukraine in terms of civilian deaths and atrocities is of course all about being a simpleton playing a tune dictated by Kremlin propaganda.

"Russia kills 39 civilians on Friday. Ukraine kills 20 civilians on Saturday. The UN assistant secretary-general, Mohamed Khiari, ""unequivocally condemned"" the attacks on both sides and said strikes against civilians and civilian infrastructure ""violate international humanitarian law, are unacceptable and must end now"". Pickle predictably gets all insulting and waffles on about Kremlin propaganda."

Nobody is turning any blind eye to any war crimes Ukraine might be committing against Russian civilians. That’s because the glaringly obvious point is that it is the Kremlin’s perfectly clear strategy to commit the crimes while pursuing a propaganda campaign designed to get the attention of simpletons like you Kenneth. But normal people will simply look at the relative scale of the destruction and come to their own conclusions.

"Pickle - The point of the post was the breaking news from the UN Security Council meeting, where western allies turned a blind eye to the same war crime they want to hold Putin accountable for."

"For three nights in a row, all Ukraine’s major population centres have been under heavy bombardment with hospitals, shopping centres, schools and homes destroyed and many lives lost. Yet Kenneth here decides to post about Ukraine’s response as if it wasn’t already widely reported. You’re obviously totally disorientated, Kenneth. But then again, that is exactly the effect the Kremlin is trying to achieve on the media front so it’s very important your blithering are not left uncountered on here. They are not a legitimate alternative point of view and merely a weapon employed in this war against us."

"I didn’t think the West had any feet left to shoot at, but apparently not. The US House voted to ban imports of Russian enriched uranium. Currently Russia currently supplies about a quarter of all US enriched uranium and is the largest importer into the U.S. Russia is also the only commercial source of special highly enriched reactor fuel known as Haleu, which is needed for a new breed of advanced nuclear reactors."

"Ukraine bombed civilians in Belogrod today in response to Russian attacks on friday. Russia called a meeting of the UN security council where Ukraine blamed Russia's air defences, France just denied it and said Ukraine were going by UN law, whilst the US and UK both just blamed Putin. * smh *"

"Avdeevka, the most fortifed city in Donbass since before 2014. Between it and Mariinka it has been responsible for the constant shelling of civilian areas within Donetsk City.. Russians might capture Avdiivka, but it will only be tactical success – Estonian General Staff EUROPEAN PRAVDA, UKRAINSKA PRAVDA — FRIDAY, 22 DECEMBER 2023, 22:00 501 Russians might capture Avdiivka, but it will only be tactical success – Estonian General Staff STOCK PHOTO: GETTY IMAGES Colonel Tarmo Kundla, Head of the Ops Department of the Estonian Defense Forces’ (EDF) General Staff, believes that Russia is currently on the offensive at the combat zone in Ukraine, but the capture of several settlements will not bring it success at the operational level. Source: Kundla as quoted by ERR, reports European Pravda Details: Kundla reported that Russian forces are still making progress all the way down the Ukrainian front line. In particular, they have been making progress in the villages to the north and south of the city of Avdiivka. Quote: ""The fall of Avdiivka is possible, but it also depends on the decision of Ukraine – whether they continue resistance or retreat. The city is not yet surrounded. If the Russian troops manage to capture the city, then this is a tactical victory that is well presented to the public, but it does not give a large operational level of success,"" he said at a briefing of the Estonian Ministry of Defence on Friday. Kundla pointed out that Marinka, a city south of Avdiivka, might also be taken over by Russian forces in the upcoming weeks. However, it is unlikely that the Russian Federation will be able to take over more land in Donetsk Oblast anytime soon. The Estonian General Staff representative claims that since Ukraine has established new defensive positions west of the city, there are no serious threats to it in the event that it decides to withdraw from Avdiivka in order to preserve manpower. ""In summary, the war of attrition continues. Russia has the initiative and its units are finding tactical success in some areas of the front line, while it comes at a considerable cost. But it does not give them operational success,"" Kundla said. Earlier, UK Defence Intelligence stated that in recent weeks, Ukraine has mobilised efforts to improve its fortifications as it switches to a more defensive position along much of the front line."

"F-16s already part delivered first batch and have been flying between Romanian airfields and close to Ivano-Francisk. Up to 3 Russian SU-34s shot down by Patriot system probably close to southern front. Meanwhile Ukrainian victory ‘unlikely’ – MP Kiev now hopes for a rebellion inside Russia, according to The Times Ukrainian victory ‘unlikely’ – MP Ukraine’s prospects of a battlefield victory aren’t looking good and the country must prepare for the worst, two lawmakers in Kiev told The Times of London in an article published on Friday. The British outlet described the mood in the Ukrainian capital as “one of grim acceptance rather than defeatism,” acknowledging that Kiev has abandoned hopes of “imminent victory” in favor of trying not to lose any more territory. “Right now, a victory on the battlefield is extremely unlikely. This war could last for years and years. Russia has the resources for this and their people will put up with it,” said Colonel Roman Kostenko, who commands a unit on the Kherson front but also serves as a member of parliament. The MP, who sits on the Verkhovna Rada’s committee for national security, defense and intelligence, was skeptical that any weapons promised by the US and its allies could turn the tide. “I don’t think there is any weapon right now that can have a strong influence on the outcome of the war,” Kostenko is quoted as saying. Long-range ATACMS missiles “can’t bring about a breakthrough” and F-16 fighters “can only help us achieve parity,” he added, noting that Russia has “hundreds” of more modern jets. “I don’t understand who has it in their head that we can defeat Russia with dozens of F-16s,” Kostenko said. ‘Old Ukraine’ is dead – ex-Zelensky aide Read more ‘Old Ukraine’ is dead – ex-Zelensky aide A more realistic goal, Kostenko argued, would be to hold territory and minimize casualties, while launching long-range strikes against Russian targets. “We cannot afford to fight symmetrically with the Russians,” he told The Times, because “mathematically we will simply run out of people faster than they will.” President Vladimir Zelensky has called for mobilizing another half a million men to replace the battlefield losses, which have become impossible to deny. One soldier on the Kharkov front, who requested anonymity, told the UK outlet he doesn’t bother giving new troops call signs, as “most of them don’t last long.” Svyatoslav Yurash, another MP who is in the military, described the fighting as “painful” and said the Ukrainian forces “can’t respond to everything the Russians are throwing at us.” “We should hope for the best but prepare for the worst. That’s the reality of it,” said Yurash, a 27-year-old private. His hope for victory is that the Russians rebel and change – or destroy – their own government. “Moscow can be taken, just not by our armed forces per se,” he said. Military and financial aid from the West, on which Kiev has become dependent over the past two years, appears to have dried up due to political disputes in Brussels and Washington. Defense Minister Rustem Umerov told the Times he didn’t think the US would abandon Ukraine to “the forces of evil,” while President Vladimir Zelensky’s adviser, Mikhail Podoliak, argued that Russia has “tasted the blood of democracy” in Ukraine and must be stopped. The current situation was the fault of the West, Podoliak said, for not giving Ukraine the weapons and supplies it needed soon enough."
