And if by some miracle we did stay up, we've got another 30+ year old injury prone player picking up his pension.

Same as it ever was, same as it ever was...

A much more sensible signing, and has attributes that we lack in our side currently.

That would be the smart forward thinking approach should we go down, or manage to stay up. Save the Ake money and go for Cresswell. Ake would be on his toes quicker than Sullivan could send him back to City should relegation happen.

We are desperate, I'll give you that.

We'll see, if we do sign him, and he can keep himself off the treatment table, he'll join the rest of our centre backs in being great on the ball but shit in the air. Just what we need.

Given our general defensive frailties, is he the type of player we need? I'd rather us concentrate on getting a proper defend at all costs leader at the back, who can attack the ball in the air. Someone like that Ballard at Sunderland, up till now a Championship defender who most would have turned their noses up at. There's players like him out there, we don't need another overpaid 30 year old who has already lived out his footballing dreams.

Dan Ballard over Nathan Ake is a late contender for this year!! :D

A contender for what?

We're not talking who's the better player, you dipstick. You may not have noticed, but we're going down without a fight at the moment, we can't defend for shit, and you want us to sign an injury prone, 5"11 30 year old centre back who earns about £150k a week playing for a team that have barely had to defend in his time there, and has already achieved everything in football?

That's really worked for us over the years hasn't it. It's planks like you who this owner loves, sign a big name and they'll be happy, don't do what's best for what we actually need.
We need the best defenders available and so far that's Nathan Ake on loan.  We aint got money to spend so we need to scrap what we can, and a quality CB on loan who needs games to get in a world cup squad is great for me.

Who cares how fucking tall he is or what he earns. Anyone with half a brain can see he is a great CB and miles better than what we have got.  You don't start in a title winning side as a CB and 'don't have to defend' let alone play for Pep for years.

Decent player having a good season.  Doubt City will be signing him though.....

Plus he would cost about £40m and Ake would be a loan which makes far more sense position we are in.

Do what? I've only ever posted under the same username on WHO. 🤔

But you remember many on here wanted Kalvin Phillips from back when you weren't on here.

Ok son.

Read it again. I didn't specifically refer to here, it was many in the fanbase in general that wanted him. And I was on the old Forum before it blew up for good when we made the move.

Even unfit is better than Kilman, deadly serious.   Ake would be a great signing, I dont think we have a pot to piss in so getting a CB of his calibre on loan with the WC looming would be great business for me.

Striker and a winger next,   then a deadline day number 10 and left back

We went from 2 experienced left backs (Creswell and Emerson) to 2 juniors basically. And swapped a 1st choice CB (aguered) for Igor who can barely get a game.

And we did this all in one go. Not gradually.

Potter did some incredible damage to this club.

Ake improves us and can play left back or left CB which eliminates at least one calamity from the starting lineup regardless of which position the idiot Nuno plays him. Has apparently been fit all season so far too.... yes we know what happens next, massive loan fee with an obligation to buy for about a gazillion if we stay up and he cops an injury in his second game keeping him out for the rest of the season. Relegation or financial handcuffs await.
