"Northern Sold 12:17 Tue Feb 15 Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021 and 2022) Maybe Waterloo ruined it for everyone, I don't think it will ever be beaten in terms of scale, you just don't get thousands of real extras anymore. On top of that it's absolutely beautifully shot, some scenes honestly look like oil paintings."

I’d be right up to watch a movie about old Napoleon… love the Napoleonic times… in fact took the missus up Wellington’s Arch last Thursday with a great day out in the City… first time for everything

Napoleon is the Everest for a lot of film makers Alfs. Even Kubrick shied away from the subject. Ridley well into his 80’s. And only has a few bullets left in the gun. As long as it is well written it should be a winner.

"My missus is working on Kit Bag, the new Ridley Scott film, starring Joaquin Phoenix. He's having a bit of a meltdown with nerves and Ridley is constantly reassuring him. They've taken over Blenheim Palace, costing a million a day, and they're running behind schedule. Lots of screaming and shouting going on. Why Apple TV think a film about Napoleon is worth a $120 million budget, I've no idea. They won't even be able to do product placement."

CopShop. Got that 70’s vibe. But not fit to be mentioned next to Carpenter’s Assault On Precinct 13.

Saw CopShop at the weekend. Bit like Tarantino doing Assault on Precinct 13. Decent action thriller.

Not sure why people were raving about the new Spiderman movie. Was pretty average and not as good as the one's with Andy Murray in them.

"Dog - How long was it after the credits were rolling that you rushed to find this thread? Bless. Nobody is good though. Pig also decent, but not that great. Watched 'Meantime' again, one of Mike Leigh's earlier works, it's still good. Nothing will beat Secrets and Lies, though."
