"Been through bad time lately with suffering with this. Dark thoughts as well. I know some posters on here suffer with this. Anyone come through the other side of this shit?

"A number of posters have been yellow carded and told to stay off this thread unless they have anything constructive to add. This is a thread that has been very useful to so many, for any other posters with scores to settle, argue on another thread. This thread is sacrosant.Thank you"

"I'm on a short term contract working with a mental health institute at the moment (nothing to do with the clinical side obviously about which I know nothing)... was talking to one of the clinicians who does work in schools. She was saying how frustrating it is that when she goes into schools everyone is so aware of ""mental health"" now that people constantly speak about ""being depressed"" or ""having anxiety"" when in reality they actually are a bid sad or temporarily anxious eg about an exam. There is a world of difference between being diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and being anxious every so often like 99% of the population is. It also undermines people who actually do have those conditions. This is not a reference to anyone on this thread. It's just a general observation about the world."

"I second Irish's suggestion. Once you go cold turkey and if you want settle on one cup in the morning (maybe at most), you really notice a difference. Shite for a few days but once you learn to just push through and realise you don't ""need"" it. Little lifestyle changes like that are often far superior to any tablet or anything medical. Mental the amount of people who knock back tea coffee and energy drinks all day then complain about lack of sleep and feeling on edge all the time and don't seem to connect the two."

honestly give it a go. its a hell of a lot better than what's happening with you now. and I'm afraid to say they will only get worse and more frequent loads of decent decaf pods/beans etc out there. and Starbucks (huck spit) actually do a very drinkable decaf! Good luck

"Hi mate, thanks for the well wishes, hope you are doing well too bud. Not sure how I'd survive without caffeine, particularly with a 9 month old! Is something I've been thinking about though, just not taken the leap as I've relied on it due to a lot of sleepless nights."

"Block 2:20 Mon Jul 19 Re: Anxiety/depression Sorry to hear of your struggles mate. I can't help obviously but if I could suggest a small thing which helped me personally. (I have a lot of neurological and health issues) Try giving up caffeine, completely. Decaf tea, decaf coffee is not the worst thing to live with it, knock the coca cola on the head also. Imagine your a pot of boiling water inside, the pot is nearly full, and then something else adds to it and what happens ? It boils over. And Caffine causes a reaction in your body and can be the cause of such an attack of anxiety or panic. Honestly, I gave it up totally, and went from multiple issues a day to a handful a week. Good luck with it mate."

"Barty I'm genuinely glad you have found your balance but it really isn't like that for many others. They can't quite find that balance and writing that on here for those who are struggling probably doesn't help. They will feel further away from normality I reckon. Anyway, good for you üëç Stevethehammer seems to be one that got away for now which is very sad. Hope he comes back on eventually."

"I´ve got an mental illness, bipolar they say The main thing about that mental disease and I assume that applies to other mental disorders is you have to learn the symptoms and learn to control yourself. Many cases of people who learn to live with bipolar without meds for example. I believe Bolty can find a solution with that uncontrolled fear and I hope he will conquer it My theory is it´s a very complicated thing this brain we have and everyone is battling with that his whole life in some ways, different ways of course, we get more mature in some ways and win battles and grow with age Or some don´t and kill themselves It´s all about finding your right balance and conquer your fears imo"

"Sitting here at work, then all of a sudden wallop, had an almighty panic attack. Could feel it coming, had an initial wave of anxiety then my chest went all tight and there it went. Fucking horrific, absolutely shattered now."

"Steve. Get in touch with someone just to let us all know that you’re alright. (You’ve got a few of our phone numbers now, so a quick call would put everyone at ease. Including yourself). And as ‘67 says, can we just keep on track on this thread please."

True about being unresponsive. I get like that sometimes I don't pick the phone up if it rings. It's too much trouble to explain how you feel or try and cover it up its easier just to not answer

"I can only echo what Haller has said below. I had a major wobble earlier this year. I didn’t get as far as attempting suicide this time, as I have learnt how to not let it get that far from previous experience. I am coping now and agree - no shame in saying you are struggling and equally no shame in saying you are in a better place. I just hope this fella is okay. It is worrying that you haven’t heard from him, but would just say that you can become very unresponsive when you’re in a bad place, so you shouldn’t necessarily fear the worst. If anyone hears from him, let us know. I’m no expert but I will drop him a whomail with my number as I may be able to just be a useful sounding board. Too much of this about and we should help each other if we can. Some chaps on here have helped me in the past and it genuinely helped."
