The war in Ukraine
Re: The war in Ukraine
"lol US debt levels are ‘Kremlin talking points’? You’re so emotional. Putin is no threat to Europe. He’s not Hitler, this isn’t blitzkrieg, he’s not taking Poland next. Come out from behind your sofa."

Re: The war in Ukraine
"I know you have the attention-span of a meth-addled goldfish with ADHD but you’re getting fucking worse. I’m pointing out that you just repeat Kremlin talking points as you have been doing for a couple of years now. Putin has killed what, couple hundred thousand people now, and suddenly he”s “no threat”? Can’t make this shit up. Word from a colleague who was talking to a senior gop congressman on a house committee is that the funding gets done as there’s support for it, but they are going to see what they can get out of Biden with some brinkmanship first."
Re: The war in Ukraine
"Karen when you’re not posting about cocks & arses you make zero sense. How would my concern (or lack of) change whether the American tax payer should pay for this proxy war? The rest is just more emotional nonsense from you. Putin is no threat to Europe, he can barely take 20% of Ukraine. you’ll be clutching your pearls and screaming about Hitler in a minute."

Re: The war in Ukraine
"This is why you’re such a pathetic mug sloppy goose. You spent months if not years here gleefully predicting the collapse of the American economy. Now you’re suddenly concerned about the lot of the American taxpayer. It’s almost as if you just parrot whatever the Kremlin talking point of the day is. As for what the taxpayer gets - it’s defending Europe, where the US interests are the same as they have been for the past 75 years, and giving it strategic clout in the increasing challenge the democracies of the world face from brutal dictators like in Russia, China, Iran and so on. A victory for Putin helps literally all of them."
Re: The war in Ukraine
The US is c$33tr in debt. The interest annually on that debt is around $1tr. Tell me why the US taxpayer should foot the bill for something that will have no impact on their lives. Same goes for the U.K.

Re: The war in Ukraine
"Calling it appeasement would be over-complementary and inaccurate as the 1930s appeasers like Halifax and Chamberlain genuinely believed they were acting in the public interest. No, this is another toxic variant of populism designed to gain the support of the especially ignorant, disorientated and demoralised blue-rinse set. It’s a very dangerous form of reflexive control that is turning the GOP and the Tories into zombie parties."

Re: The war in Ukraine
That’s nonsense. What you are advocating amounts to support for Kremlin imperialism dressed up as a mealy-mouthed appeal for peace. Your like are a menace to be marginalised and kept well away from any influence on public policy.

Re: The war in Ukraine
'Not once have we seen you calling for Putin to initiatie a peaceful solution by returning his invasion force to Russia. ' I've repeatedly pointed out that there was a peace deal that would have seen Russia withdraw to pre invasion lines. One you and the other warmongering shills have continually refuted as factually incorrect or argued as unacceptable. If Ukraine have to compromise at some point beyond that it''ll be the fault of everyone that pushed them towards it.

Re: The war in Ukraine
"Jaan Kenbrovin 5:38 Sat Dec 9 Re: The war in Ukraine The “peaceful resolution” would involve Ukraine surrendering to Putin’s overtly fascist regime, where there would follow a massive purge of Ukrainians. You’ve seen how the Putin regime slaughters people, including Russians. They would have faced a genocide at the hands of Putin. Not once have we seen you calling for Putin to initiatie a peaceful solution by returning his invasion force to Russia. As for Bovine - continuing his pathetic attempt to try and drag it down to details while ignoring the fact that Putin invaded and has killed what, tens or is it hundreds of thousands of people now. This is simple stuff - life often involves shades of grey - this situation isn’t one of them."

"Putin said that it was a geopolitical catastrophe, and that those who don't feel sad about the collapse of the USSR have no heart, and those who want to resurrect it have no brain."

"Pickle I will treat every post and poster on their merits. You are obviously a clever chap who gets carried away and tends to try to find information to support your beliefs, we all do to some extent, but you seem to be emotionally led instead of information driven. If you tried to engage more in facts and less on emotive reason, you'd be more interesting to converse with."

""" After NATO and the EU expanded to include most of the former Soviet Union’s European vassal states, Putin responded with a chilling message delivered in Munich in 2007"" So Putin delivered his state of the nation speech of 2005 in Munich in 2007? Can you not see why most people don't take you seriously?"

Re: The war in Ukraine
"Anyway, if you want a direct quote “First and foremost it is worth acknowledging that the demise of the Soviet Union was the greatest geopolitical catastrophe of the century,” Putin said. “As for the Russian people, it became a genuine tragedy. Tens of millions of our fellow citizens and countrymen found themselves beyond the fringes of Russian territory.” It was from his annual State of the Nation address in 2005, though I doubt you have grasped its geopolitical significance to this day."

"I don't understand, you seemed to be providing a message from Putin and using it as context in your post. So, was it your interpretation of a Putin quote, or somebody else's interpretation?"

""" Putin responded with a chilling message delivered in Munich in 2007. He declared Russia would never accept the kind of world order where its neighbours just went about their own affairs as they pleased"" I've checked and can't find that quote from Putin, can you provide a link to it, or did you just make it up?"
