He was also signed by their football director not Emery and they have a different one now apparently.

"There's a very fine line between being being a maverick and being a dickhead. Let's hope he knows the difference. Thankfully, quite a lot of his antics seem to be on social media, which I'll miss."

"Here's what Villa captain John McGinn said about him (after he'd scored twice vs Liverpool): ""Big Jhon...he’s a bit nuts. He’s a nightmare sometimes to have in your team. But he has moments of quality, we need to try and keep his feet on the ground the next couple of days. ""Jhon doesn't have a scooby who they [Duran Duran] are. He does not have a clue. I mean Jhon I don't even think he knows he's actually in the city of Birmingham never mind who Duran Duran are. But, he's such a raw player, some days you think what a good boy, some days you think come on big man have a bit more respect. But he has everything to be one of the top strikers in the world and hopefully he can do that here."""

I read that his 'attitude' was mostly about thinking he should play more ... but obviously he was firmly behind Watkins at Villa Think with all these 'nutcases' all you can do is talk to people in the game and meet the player for a couple of hours to gauge whether he is able to be worked on or needs a strait jacket. Given we have had the likes of DiCanio & Arnautovic its not as though we havent dealt with this

"Just read this on Kumb about him, this transfer is obviously risky but has massive potential to be either brilliant or an absolute clusterfuck My Villa supporting friend said this about Duran. Faustino Asprilla Mario Balloteli all in one. As mad as a box of frogs, with huge attitude issues. But potentially an absolute monster of a striker. Unais letting him go as he’s disruptive & we will double the investment. But if someone can tame him he can be exceptional. Seen glimpses of it. We should have used him more but he’s unbelievably pig headed & Emery struggled with him. Seems teammates said the same thing. But he’s an absolute handful, strong, fast & direct. I hope we don't regret it,but I think Emerys done with the attitude issue."

"Duran will be playing in the Copa America final in Rio, or wherever it is, once that is finished this should accelerate."

Got a good feeling that Duran is going to be an instant hit at us if we get him. We love a maverick.

"Football Insider West Ham agree Chinaza Nwosu deal after fending off Man City West Ham have agreed terms on a professional contract with 16-year-old Chinaza Nwosu, sources have told Football Insider. Nowsu has agreed to stay at West Ham despite interest from top clubs in the Premier League and will put pen to paper on the deal as soon as he turns 17 next year. Man United, Man City and Tottenham had all been in contact with the midfielder’s camp over a potential move away from the London Stadium. This comes after Football Insider first revealed on 4 July that the Hammers were fighting hard to keep hold of their academy sensation. West Ham agree professional contract with Chinaza Nwosu Nwosu is regarded as one of the brightest prospects to come out of the West Ham academy in recent years and has been playing up the age groups for the academy side. He featured 12 times for the Hammers’ under-18s last season and was named on the bench in their FA Youth Cup third-round clash. The 16-year-old has also represented England at under-15 and under-16 levels. FA regulations state that he can’t sign a professional contract until he turns 17, but having pre-agreed to the deal with West Ham, he will sign it on his birthday. Tying Nwosu down to a professional deal is a statement of intent and direction from the Hammers, fending off some of the country’s top clubs in the process. The arrival of Julen Lopetegui this summer has marked a change of direction at the London Stadium, with this deal indicating a clear pathway for academy players into the first team."

"We'd be mad to pay that for KWP. Mind you, I said the same thing about Kilman and we ended up getting him."

Soton are all over the place. They desperately want Downes but do not appear to want to pay the money. I don't know why we don't just recall him and utilise him in the team.

They’re actually trying to justify it on their boards as KWP has played for England and in the prem and downes is not proven in the prem. I really don’t get it. It’s got to be a wind up hasn’t it? https://www.westhamzone.com/transfers/southampton-demands-emerge-as-west-ham-united-in-talks-for-kyle-walker-peters-and-flynn-downes-transfer/

He is in the final year of his contract … £10m is about right for Walker Peters Would keep Downes but he is £25m if we want to sell Southampton need to wake up & smell the coffee

"So 27 year old KWP with 12 months left on his deal they value at around 30m. Fuck. Right. Off. Would hijack their deal for Sugawara immediately, and refuse Downes going anywhere near them. Pricks."

I think its just the Reflex but I think it may be a good signing but ill still Save a Prayer that he doesn't bugger off to Rio anytime soon. Still we need to move sharpish with a View to a Kill to beat the other clubs for him and hopefully we will see him in a west ham shirt surrounded by Girls on film very soon.

Suspect a few on here will turn up at the stadium in puffy blouses and with their hair (if they have any) gelled up like a walnut whip
