NFL (since 2016)

"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"Oh, and the highest paid player in the league - Bengals QB Joe Burrow - got a ""whopping""ù 85 yards on his new contract! Worth every cent. Stupid cats."

"Some great games on opening weekend, too: The Fish v Chargers game was insane - seven or eight changes of lead, and Tua throwing more yards than Adam Gase offenses achieved in his entire HC career! Packers putting almost 40 points on the Bears was unexpected, after some pre-season hype in Chicago. But the Bears need to be careful: the oldest rivalry in the league is in danger of losing the word ""rivalry""ù: the Bears haven't beaten the Packers for 9 games now. Dallas' defence looked ominously good while shutting down the Giants, while the Eagles made winning in Belichick's Boston look quite easy. Always had another gear, and you don't see that often when New England are at home. Going to get interesting. Jets-Bills opener on Tuesday."

"Pittsburgh is ""east coast""ù?! You try telling that to Steelers fans: they'll tell you they're 100% mid-west. Philly - down the other end of Pennsylvania - that might be considered east coast. But there are people in Steeler country who have genuinely never seen the coast. Couldn't spell it."

Dallas defence just might win me a couple fantasy matchups.

Niners completely dominated the Steelers from start to finish. Big win on the road in an early East coast game. Seahawks look like shit! Falcons are the best long shot bet. Onto the Rams next week before we play the Giants at home. Giants currently getting spanked by the Cowboys.

The Eagles have probably got the best offence and the best defence in the league. Pile on them for the SB this year.

"Season opener for most teams today - although the defending champion Chiefs surprisingly lost to the Lions on Friday night. I watched most of the game - the Chiefs' receivers dropped so many ""gimme"" passes it was unbelievable. No wonder Mahomes was furious. That should have been a comfortable win for Kansas. This could be a good season - lots of teams at ""tipping points"" in terms of their development: including Norf's brother's mob, who look well set-up defensively. Jets play the Bills in their opener on Tuesday. We'll see if Rodgers still has an arm, or whether the Packers sold us a pup. Either way, he must be better than the ageing Joe Flacco, surely..?!"

"Sbbb, Well drafting all Jets players would've definitely been worse, there is that! As a Fin I should enjoy the Jets struggling, but I have every sympathy. No-one deserves that much failure! PS I've brought Allen Lazard into my team (deliberately!)"

Just watched the four parter on the Florida Gators. Really good. Urban Mayer is a nightmare. You can see why it went so tits up in Jacksonville so fast.

"Mercenary, I wouldn't worry about it, fella: every year for the past 20 years, the NFL website has told me that that the (real life) Jets drafted well. And every year for most of that time I watched the same turgid shite week in, week out! I think NFL.com told me Vernon Gholston was a good top ten pick!"

"I just missed the draft but was quite relaxed about auto pick, as it gave me a strong team last season. Won't make that mistake again üòÇ The email they send out about ""who won your draft""ù gave my team a ""òB'. You'd think that was ok, but no: Projected rank = 12th Projected record = 1-13 If that's a B""¶ 3 of the first 4 picks were at WR ü§∑""ç‚ôÇÔ∏è"

"Sorry to miss the draft too, chaps - was driving back to London along the M4 and didn't get home in time. The autopick team seems ok, some decent choices there who I wouldn't maybe have chased but might do well. Going to be interesting to see if Justin Fields can build on his form last year."

"Just back home and mine was autopicked. It did pick most of my 3rd and more chices apart from Pollard and Mark Andrews and, werdily, more WRs than I will ever need."

"I just wonder how much effort it is worth spending in planning your draft strategy? I had two 'must gets' this year in Run CMC & Waller, and ended up getting neither of them. Unless you are spending hours constructing a full draft board with every eventuality covered, (certainly in my case) I suspect auto-draft would probably do a better job than I do anyway."

WTF happened there?! Genuinely tried to take the Jets defense and somehow managed to take the fucking Bills! Next pick up took the Jets!
