5 Test series : India v England
"All 4am starts in the UK 1st Test Jan 25-29 2nd Test Feb 2-6 3rd Test Feb 15-19 4th Test Feb 23-27 5th Test Mar 7-11 Harry Brook has gone home ,replaced by Dan Lawrence of Surrey Virat Kohli not available for first 2 Tests Indian coach Dravid reckons the First Test pitch might turn. No shit Sherlock England havent bothered with a warm up game presumably as they would be put on a green top against an attack of medium pacers"

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
"Its a good thing that England take a positive attitude into attacking Test matches but there is an inherent NAIVETY in trying to play the same way all the time and asking all the players to play the same. Lack of subtlety probably expected in a New Zealand run team. Someone like Root who is Englands best technical player should be the glue some of the others play around rather than come out and try and be one of the COOL KIDS and throwing his wicket away. LOOK AT ME tactics such as playing 4 spinners would also be better served seeing 2 quicks (Anderson & Robinson maybe here), 2 spinners and another part timer in Root Reining in the WE'VE GOT THEM WORRIED boasting might be an idea too. You're welcome"

Something I find glorious about BAZBALL is how obsessed the LOLstralians are over it.

"A good effort, and no great harm to us in the immediate or long term to lose to an Indian team shorn of many of its better players. The reaction to last week was absurd, and should be a useful grounding & lesson about what’s required."

"All out, England need 399 to win. Plenty of time, will Bazball be deployed?"

Looks like a similar situation to the First Test where India led by 190 on the first innings Not sure lightning will strike twice with England batting last

"Wickets in CLUMPS is what happens in India. Bumrah is top class but some of the others arent up to Shami, Siraj & Jadeja. Unusual for an Indian batting line up to get in then get themselves out apart from the double centurian Rahul, Kohli & Pant all missing of course"

See England managed to be bowling a 91st over inside the 6 hour playing time ... not even with the extra half hour Rewarded with a 6th wicket

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
That catch from Foakes in that instant highlighted the folly of having fatty Bairstow behind the wicket Ridiculous that we never picked a proper keeper
Re: 5 Test series : India v England
"""Foakes best gloveman since James FOSTER,,, and before that KNOTTY... specialists"" And Foakes is more than competent with the bat. Thought it was a mistake last summer to shoe horn Bairstow back in as keeper at Foakes's expense, especially so soon after Bairstow's broken leg. If Brook returns to the tour, I hope Foakes isn't discarded, just so Bairstow can stay in the team."

"""As almost everybody on here has pointed out at some point, Foakes is a MASSIVE boost behind the stumps"" I agree. It's been obvious for such a long time the he should be a constant in the team. I'm glad you said ""almost everybody"". There's always one: Dr Matt 2:54 Sat Jan 27 ""But for Foakes’ drop of KLR - England would have won this Test."""

KL Rahul and Jadeja both out of the 2nd Test through injury. Jadeja a MASSIVE loss especially with Kohli still moping at home over the ODI World Cup Final defeat

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
"Wanted to watch a lot more of it - but did manage to catch a bit of the England/India match. As almost everybody on here has pointed out at some point, Foakes is a MASSIVE boost behind the stumps. Far and away England's best keeper - and he saves 30-odd runs per innings. Kept really well on a slow, low, turning pitch. The likes of Bairstow and Buttler would have struggled keeping on that pitch. Didn't like Foakes' attempt to 'run out' a batsman who briefly took his foot off the ground while in the crease. But otherwise, he should be a banker. Pope's knock was immense. Hartley produced something out of nothing. Superb stuff. The Windies knocking over the Aussies on the same day was a Brucie Bonus."

Re: 5 Test series : India v England
Fantastic win by England ... looked dead & dont believe India have ever lost a home Test with a first innings lead of 100 let alone 190. Great 3rd innings to put pressure on India and like in the two WTC finals and every ICC tournament for a decade they crumbled Imagine Kohli will be told to stop moping at home and get his arse into the 2nd Test Brilliant & deserved win by the Windies... their first Test win in Australia for 27 years. Who'd have thought THAT in the 80's? Should cancel the white ball rubbish and have a deciding 3rd Test for the Frank Worrell Trophy. (Held by Australia for over 30 (THIRTY) years) To be frank Australia's batting has been poor in the 4 Tests against Pakistan & the Windies after Perth. Centuries from Warner & Head and NONE from Labuschagne or Smith in 5 Tests. Personally I think the ageing team needs some fresh blood with India next summer and the Ashes the following one. Players understandably want to play on for the money on offer but sometimes the selectors need to take some hard decisions.

Blimey ... not bad for a bloke with smashed up toes... some celebrations at the end there as well... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3r-dS3rNeo Burnsy... agreed... what I saw of Foakes behind the timbers he looked superb on a tricky surface... hate to think how Jonny B would have coped
