"Just finished The Killing liked it a lot but not really the last season as much. Breaking Bad, Homeland done Was going to do Luther or The Wire next - can you tell me which one is best of the two?"

"its best to find a critic who's taste matches yours. Some stuff Mark Kermode likes I like, some he doesn't like that I do but I always recognise why so generally see it. He does sometimes follow the crowd a bit"

"I don't take much notice of critical reviews any more. They are mostly paid for, coerced or bribed by the film studios or have political agendas of their own or their employers that they can't resist pushing. Witness the rave critical reviews for pieces of crap like She-Hulk, Rings of Power etc that contrast with the audience rating drubbings. I suspect we are about to get the same in reverse for Black Adam. Lukewarm critics and a billion bucks plus at the global box office."

"Finished the Offer… really enjoyable yarn… so much so Godfather, and Part 2 will be viewed again for the umpteenth time in the next few days… strange one as the Offer got absolutely panned by the critics yet everyone I know that watched it said the same how much they enjoyed it."

"Zico - might watch that, and the Steve Thompson dementia one. Tough viewing indeed. I had a mate get diagnosed with MND. Horrific disease, was in his mid 30s and lived for 3 years."

"Not a box set but just seen on twitter - Rob Burrow: Living With MND – a brand new #BBCBreakfast documentary. An intimate film about a love, support and determination. Tuesday 18th October BBC Two at 7pm. Sure, it will be a tough watch but valuable awareness for this horrific disease."

"Claypole, I agree. I thought it was very underrated. Should have been a much bigger success than it was but came at a time when James Franco got himself in to hot water so probably didn't get the promotion it deserved. Maggie Gyllenhaal was outstanding in it. Surface, still not really floating my boat massively but I've certainly watched plenty of stuff that hasn't jumped off the page at me so will try to give it a go."

"Jim79 I suspect Mrs Maisel is aimed mainly at women, but it's a decent watch because, and here's the thing, while Mrs Maisel makes a lot of feminist jokes about men in her comedy act, all the male supporting characters are treated with respect and affection/love. n.b. Disney/BBC - that's how you do it, morons."

"Correct Surface, I still haven't watched The Marvellous Mrs Maisel. Just hasn't grabbed me as something that I would make the effort to watch. is it any good? Luke was a cool guy, very reserved and quiet but a really talented actor and a fun bloke once he loosens up and gets to know you."

Yeah we talked about Swingers a bit but mostly he was just a really down to earth bloke struggling to entertain his two daughters so me having 4 daughters with only one of them in the film was a god send to him as my other 3 played with his two all day everyday leaving us to chill and chat.

"No Anon, I haven't seen that film but will look it up on your recommendation but we did talk quite a bit about his stint on Boardwalk Empire with some interesting stories. His wife in real life, Rosemarie DeWitt plays my daughters mum in a film set to come out next year so Ron was on set with their two adopted daughters a lot of the time so we were playing daddy daycare with our kids collectively and chatted a lot, really really nice bloke and as a massive fan of BoB I was fascinated to hear all the stuff he had to say about it. An actor called Luke Kirby plays the dad in the film my daughter is in and he's been in loads of stuff but most interestingly for me he was in The Deuce which I loved but seemed to be a bit of an unknown gem to most so he loved talking about that as he mostly gets asked about stuff he did like Blue Bloods and Gossip Girl."

"Livingston was also good in Loudermilk, a series he did for 3 seasons and ended a couple years ago. Though its Seattle is painfully Vancouvery Canadian. Not as bad as Psych trying to make it Santa Barbara, mind you."

"NS, you might not have seen but Dexter Fletcher (English actor from Lock Stock, the Press Gang kids programme in the 80's, etc) is one of the producers of The Offer. He was in Band of Brothers so has pulled in a few of his old mates to be part of this project. I spent a fair amount of time with Ron Livingston (Captain Lewis Nixon) from BoB this summer and we had a bit of a joke about how disappointed he was at not getting a call to be part of The Offer. He did say that the cast of BoB are all still really close and regularly meet up on anniversaries of the filming."
