"Funnily enough, when I see STATS churned out on how much xG's Kilman has saved compared to Zouma, Alex V comes into my head."

"Trundle, if you read that poll, the person who posted it asks: ""Would you sell if a 40m offer came in for him?"" As for the other comments, most of them just talk about what a good profit it is. Seen hardly any about his actual ability as a player. Surprised to see you're in line with the Alex V way of thinking. Perhaps that's why you follow him on Twitter?"

It's not being overplayed. If this is the poll you're talking about then it started 5 months ago when they had no idea of how much they'd get for him. https://www.molineuxmix.co.uk/forum/index.php?threads/kilman-keep-or-sell.734378/ Have a look at the comments after our bid was accepted. https://www.molineuxmix.co.uk/forum/index.php?threads/kilman-keep-or-sell.734378/page-18 And then have a look here after our bid was accepted: https://www.wolvesforum.co.uk/threads/the-summer-2024-transfer-thread.38438/page-124 The vast majority of them are delighted with the deal when it comes to selling their club captain.

"Kilian with all his games without injury, what are the odds he'll fick his knees up in a pre-season friendly against Dagenham or whomever we are lined up against."

"This thing about Wolves fans not rating him is being massively overplayed. One of their forums has a poll with 500+ responses about whether to sell him for £40m and results are 50/50. Most of the ones happy to get rid are of the Alex V school of thought and just see the sale as a very good profit, at a time when the club is in a financial mess. Very few of their fans don't rate him as a player."

"ludo, Kilman is left footed but two footed enough to play on the right of a back 3. He'll be bought as a replacement for Aguerd, who will hopefully be sold for a decent price. If Lopetegui continues with his usual tactics of pushing forward the full backs then it's very important to have a left footed CB there to cover that space, presumably with Alvarez dropping between the two CBs when needed."

"Some things I think worth remembering with Kilman: 1. He's very good/comfortable with ball at his feet. 2. He's very good at bringing the ball out from the back, under pressure, in tight spaces. 3. Under Lopetegui we'll be defending much higher up the pitch in general, and be spending much less time defending (so backs to the wall defensive resilience is less of a thing) 4. He's left footed, but has played both left and right side. and most importantly, given the Wolves fans comments. 5. Kilman is a player who will favour a high possession game. Lopetegui plays this style. O'Neill doesn't. So if Wolves fans are basing their views on Kilman under O'Neill last season, it likely makes sense they're not bothered to lose him."

"I see that Killman has generally played as the right sided CB in a back three for Wolves last season (when Dawson played in the middle) but I believe Lop generally plays a back 4? Does that mean that Killman will take Mavro's place with Aguerd (or new LCB, Greaves?) playing alongside?"

"It has to be a bit of a concern that Wolves fans never rated him or that he's never had a sniff of an England cap, has nobody said in Lop we trust yet? All we can do is judge for ourselves from next month, personally my gut feeling is he will be a good signing. I see that both his parents are from Ukraine and he was born in Chelsea."

"If you consider that Newcastle paid Chelsea £30m for Lewis Hall then £40m for an established englsh CB is about the going rate. Personally, I am please the club weren't tight and did what was needed to support Lopetegui in one of his priority signings. If we'd paid £60-80m then different story."

Am always wary of fans opinions when a player has left them Imagine if Paqueta had gone to Man City for £85m last summer we'd have heard the same on here about him being over priced Wolves Chinese owners appear to have turned the money off so they should be grateful Perhaps they'd like to buy Zouma?

"Erm... where have I criticised the manager? If anything I'm criticising the board for overpaying. It's too much for him. That's coming from the fans that have been watching him the last 5 years, and who's their club captain."

"Trundle of course it matters what way a deal is dressed up and if you can’t see that then it’s really not worth entering into a conversation about it. The fact you have been on the new managers back before he even started his job is a little poor but each to their own and I get that. If Aguerd moves, on like has been rumoured, for £30m then we’ve just paid £10m to replace him with Kilman and I’m happy with that."

"So we’re willing to overpay to get our guy. Bit of a change of course, they must really like him. He will probably prove himself to be the best center half we have. I like the signing and I like the intent."

People on here: Stop putting in lowball offers and just get the players the manager wants. Also people on here: That's too much.

Killman has only missed 2 PL games in the last two years... can't put a value on that if he can continue to avoid injury and is half decent.

"They're saying it includes Add Ons...so could well be something like: - 30m Fee - 5m after starts 30 games - 2.5m if we qualify for Europe in a season where he starts more than 20 games - 2.5m if he gets selected in an England squad. If it's something like that, seems toppy but ok."
