"Brother Mouzone has just pitched up. FMOB , it's like Martin Luther King playing The Terminator."
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
5 episodes in no The Watcher and highly recommend. Intriguing to say the least. Not really a fan of series longer than a handful of episodes but this has got me hooked.

"Nurse - great stuff, I love The Wire. Many excellent characters, hard to pick a ‘best’ season as they are all really well done. Freamon is probably my favourite character."

Nurse 3:40 Great choice one of the best programs ever made. Really gets going in season 3. Omar is one of the best characters in it.

"Yep, Hostel was below the belt, I still sometimes think about those films, it's not so much what you saw but the thought that something like that actually happening to someone. Have to agree with Nuts, it's it's too gory (or even violent) who the fuck wants to see it."
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"yeah fair enough, if it's a good film I'm ok with gore, but films like Hostel are too much for me, I'm already well aware of what it's like to be tortured for 90 minutes."

"Mr.Anon, In a word, Yes! I didn’t get far enough into it to see any gory scenes, however if they were too graphic I would have probably switched off too. I switched off the latest Texas Chainsaw massacre movie for that reason….."

"Running fashionably late, as usual, I've finally started on The Wire. A few episodes into series 2. It's as well written and well acted and gritty/grim as everyone says, but I wasn't expecting it to be so funny in places. Delighted so far."

"Finally began Boardwalk Empire last night (i know,i know) and its excellent after 3 episodes. I'm with Manuel, for me,Narcos and Gomorrah set the bar at record heights when it comes to tv drama. Being a massive 'Godfather' nerd i enjoyed 'the offer' as much as anything else Iv'e seen lately. Watched The Wee Man on Prime on Friday and its well worth a look. True story of the life of a Glasgow gangster set in the 70/80's. Martin Compston plays the lead role however, ni subtitles available so some may struggle to understand the dialogue in parts."

"Never got into Dahmer at all, would have been better as a courtroom drama. Watched three episodes of Netfix's The Watcher last night. Quite compelling although a bit similar to an Amityville Horror type of thing, going to stick with it but it is a tad weird."

"Yea, this is the point I've been making on here for a while now, some seem to rave about something so i watch it and don't think it's all that, i don't see anything today at the levels of BB, Sopranos, Prison Break, Banshee, Boardwalk, Narcos, plus many others. The last great show I saw was Gomorrah, which is probably the best TV I've ever seen. I think it helps when it's a true story, so will see it out as only 10 eps."

"Three episodes into Dahmer, it's okay. Must be years since i watched something that really blew me away. These days I find BBC/ITV dramas better than anything coming out the US and on Netflix etc."

Thought the Looming Tower was excellent. Showed 9/11 completely avoidable if the CIA had cooperated with FBI properly! The real footage they show of the post 9/11 review is very revealing
Re: Tv Box sets thread again - recommendation pls
"Finished The Bear recently. Loved it, although some of the scenes were stress inducing. Pretty sure I'd be shit in that working environment. Started on The Looming Tower. 3 episodes in, reasonably good but quite slow. Will give it a few more episodes - anyone else watched it? What did you think?"

"Watched the first season of Yellowjackets, avoiding spoilers and not knowing it was actually a series, not a limited one. Stupidly ridiculous premise and wilderness scenes. Really decent murder mystery essentially. Some really good performances. Might go back."
