"Free agency started last night and was pretty crazy some huge money being spent. Osweiler getting £18m a year for the Texans, leaving the Broncos without a QB, Giants have spent a fortune on good but not great players, Oliver Vernon has more guaranteed money than JJ Watt. lots more deals but cant be bothered to list them all."

"brady couldn't be much more different in character, and possibly one of the least selfish legends of the game. it'll be fun if they do sign him but I think it ends with the coach getting fired within two years more positive news, dan snyder has cleared his office and the new owner announcement is due any day now. a twenty three year curse about to be lifted one word of warning, and this has been mentioned on numerous redskin fan channels regarding snyder. he apparently wants to relocate to the uk, and may look to purchase a PL club. he's exactly the sort of character sullivan would sell to."

You never know. Tom Brady joined the Bucs after a pretty iffy season with the Patriots.

Not sure the Andy Carroll analogy stacks up. Super winner and MVP 4xMVP 10xProbowl Multiple NFL records including the staggering 402 consecutive passes without an interception. His last season wasn't great and can really bear a grudge. I think he is still pissed off that Packers drafted Jordan Love.

"Be in no doubt: if he joins, Rodgers considerably improves the Jets. Even at the age of 39. He is a big upgrade on what we've had at QB for more than ten years - even though he is past his peak. That's how bad our QBs have been for too long. The question is not about his quality. It's what the Jets are prepared to give away to land him (especially at 39) - and whether pandering to his giant ego upsets the team spirit that Douglas and Saleh have built. Last year, the rest of the team turned their backs on Zach Wilson when his (unjustified) ego ran amok. Some criticised them for that - I took it as a good sign, because it meant that apart from a poor QB we were a unified side. Hence, players turned up with the t-shirts saying ""Mike Fucking White""! Rodgers' ego and character threatens that unity. Unless he just slots in as the QB leader of a good group."

"Realistically, it now looks like Rodgers will be the Jets' next quarterback. He says he wants to be a Jet next season and has mentioned no other team. He and his advisers have tried to backtrack on claims that he's trying to cherry-pick his offensive weapons. They claim the media has inflated his ""demands"" around Odell Beckham etc. If true, big if, then that's good. According to Rodgers, the sticking point is that the Packers are ""diffing their heels in"" over compensation from the Jets - which means draft picks and the salary pick-up. I fucking hope Joe Douglas plays a blinder on that one. They have some leverage. There's not a huge market for Rodgers (most needy teams have picked their free agent QBs already), and Green Bay has told Rodgers ""they"" want to move on from him - which gives the Jets some reason to say 'then you have to take some of the hit financially'. My advice to Douglas would be to stay at the negotiating table for as long as possible. Make Green Bay take something they don't want. We have the #13 pick this year and could take a QB or trade that out to somebody else if Green Bay asks too much."

"White is a reliable back-up, Zeb. Not going to be #1 material, but a hard-working roster QB who learns the playbooks. He'll be a decent #2 for you. But I'm pissed that he's gone to the Fish!"

The Jets are defnitely going for Rodgers. Mike White has gone to my Fins and Joe Flacco is a free agent. There is no way Zach Wilson will be anything more than second string at best. He's not Nathan Perterman bad but he is bad.

"Agree. he's a franchise wrecker at this point. Completely self above team and you can't give in to demands like that. He will keep taking and taking. The Jets need to see with some clarity and walk away. Meanwhile on the QB merry go round- Mayfield to Bucs, Darnold to SF, Jimmy G to Vegas."

"if they're going to invest the sort of money he wants (rodgers alone), I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole if he's requesting multiple people to hold his hand. you're supposedly trading for a locker room leader, all I see is a prima donna that potentially creates toxic atmospheres. also, you already have at least three receivers that are better than cobb/lazard & conklin is better than 38 year old lewis"

"I also get the impression that Rodgers is planning a one-year ""shit or bust"" run at the SB title. Hence, ""let's get Beckham or Cobb etc"" and explode the finances. Don't let him do that. Two-year deal at QB and Saleh/Douglas make the rest of the picks, thanks."

"Definitely think the whole ""let's get Rodgers"" thing is coming from the owners, and not Douglas (GM) or Saleh (HC). Rodgers is excellent, but a MASSIVE ego and dickhead. That just doesn't fit with the whole Douglas/Saleh approach. In fact, it runs in stark contrast to it."

"Seriously, I'm thinking the Jets should give him a swerve and go for Baker Mayfield (now that Carr and Jimmy G have gone elsewhere) and a longer-term rebuild QB in the draft. These names that Rodgers is wanging on about are either far too expensive and won't fit with Rodgers' own salary cap demands...or they are no better than the two (good) young receivers we already have: Garrett Wilson and Elijah Moore. The problem a slot guy like Moore has had at the Jets has been Zach Wilson's inability to read his covered receivers and check-down, which is why Zach Wilson fell off a cliff last year. He can't read the field. Rodgers - who is one of the best check-down guys in history - throwing to Moore (inside) and Garrett Wilson (outside) is potentially really good for the Jets. Rodgers doesn't need so-called ""big names"" like Beckham Jnr. It's a fucking waste of time and money - and their egos will ruin the team. I'd probably still take Rodgers at a push. But if he starts trying to pick his own players and drafts, then fuck him. We've got talent on the roster. We need a good QB, not another fucking HC."

"Hargrove is an excellent signing for the 49ers. He's a proper defensive tackle. Solid all round, against pass and run. I was hoping the Jets might take a peek, but they look completely distracted by this flirtation with Rodgers."

Before coaching the Vikings, he was the head coach of Winnipeg for ten seasons, winning the Grey Cup four times. and the fifth most successful professional football coach overall with a combined 286 wins in the NFL and CFL. Looks like my Dolphins are all in now. Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard a very good pair of corners. We have to make a decisoin about running backs. Not sure what the cap space is like but Wilson and Mostert are going to be expensive. Did read that Mike Gesicki might be let go. So not sure where that leaves us tight end. Some team can certainly use him as a giant slot receiver. Looks like Tua is the man for sure.
