"Sven Roeder 1:47 Fri Jul 23 Saw that advertised, looks really interesting, mental that it was pretty much scrubbed from the record books compared to Woodstock etc"

"Went to see the documentary Summer of Soul the other day about the 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival where concert footage has sat on a shelf for 50 odd years. Unbelievable performances .... Stevie Wonder, BB King, Mavis Staples , Mahalia Jackson, Sly & The Family Stone, Nina Simone etc etc"

Watched Black Widow the other night and was pleasantly surprised. I actually thought the standard movie action stuff was boring but the non action dialogue was fun. Becoming a major fan of our Florence Pugh. She’s going to be massive. And she’s shocked up with the Scrubs guy. Oh dear.

"Jaan Kenbrovin 2:27 Sun Jul 11 Re: 2020 Movies (now including 2021) Werewolves Within is quite good. I thought that too, a really frenetic film that goes at 100mph, exactly the kind of shit that I want to watch at the moment. Gunpowder Milkshake was good too for the same reasons. Don't trust my word on it though, remember that I have covid and have lost my sense of taste!"

"Putting this here as I can't find the Documentary thread! Watched ""Blackfish"" on Netflix last night and must say it would put me off visiting Sea World for life!"

"Thought Molly's Game was decent, but was 20 mins or so too long. The Quiet Place Part 11 - Enjoyed it, and better than the first one for me. Who says that sequels are never better!?"

"RBshorty 2:21 Sun Jul 11 Thanks, looked like a lot of money was spent on it in CGI and names but little in the way of sensible writing. I usually like a bit of time travel but this was more Time Drivel"

DukeofDevo. 1:18 That was the one thing.(No pun.) That made it passable. The bosses at Paramount must be thanking the money gods at Amazon. They got £600 million for Coming 2 America. No remorse. And. The Tomorrow War. No matter how much money. CGI. And star names. You sprinkle on it. You just can’t polish a turd. Or in this case. A pile of shit.!

"Mad Dog 1:26 Sun Jul 11 Yep, agree. Big negative - Ray Winstone as the worst villain Marvel have ever cast Big positive - lots of framed shots of SJ's fabulous bottom. Oh, and David Harbour, he was excellent"

Sound of Metal was very good. It had very little to do with heavy metal music and a lot to do with a bloke struggling with going deaf.

"Swiss. 3:03 Wed Jul 7 God that was a bad film. ""I'm not a hero, I'm just trying to save my daughter - and if I have to save the world to do that, then that's what I'm gonna do!"" ""My best future was the one in front of me"" Pass this sick bucket. Toe curlingly bad dialogue"

Enjoyed Another Round the other day. Its Danish so of course Mads Mikkelsen is in it. Group of teachers in a middle aged slump decide that they need to test the theory that man is born with a blood alcohol level that is 0.05 less than that needed to function.

"I Care a Lot - slightly promising first hour, expectations raised by a good cast (Rosamund Pike, Peter Dinklage) but the second hour was brain-numbingly painful. Would have walked out but we were watching at home in our own front room."

"Thanks Branded I started to watch that last night, turned off and was going to return but will probably avoid now! Saw ""Army of the Dead"" on Netflix and ""The Ice Road"" on Prime. Both ok watches, nothing special although Neeson seems to be running out of decent scripts now."
