"Another aspect of this is the media would have the teams playing 7 games a week if they were televising them all, and fuck the quality. They get advertising revenue and the pundits/commentators/support teams are guaranteed jobs for life. As a fan of football, I'd much rather watch a game that had an outcome riding directly on it that same day, not how four or five matches down the road panned out in a few weeks time. It's the risk - the risk of an upset - that makes the game worth watching, not seeing a bunch of overpaid, over-pampered prima-dona show ponies strut around."

Some of these clubs like Real are still in it and obviously it will come back again when the dust has settled. Whatever the punishment of the 6 they should be also told that if they dont report any further contact or try this again then next time its expulsion from the Premier league for a decade.

brabrook 5:01 Sat Apr 24 Like I said earlier - first 3 home games of next season at a neutral venue. That'll learn 'em not to fuck with the FA and piss on the PL.

"Heard Spursy Jenas last night saying a points deduction would be unfair on the fans It was unfair on the fans when all the EFL clubs (Bolton, Sheff Wed, Bury etc etc) all got points deductions for financial misdemeanours by owners and noone shed any tears. These clubs have broken Premier league rules and put the other clubs and the EFL clubs in financial jeopardy. In my mind the points deduction should be around the figure of 50 points given the seriousness. That puts Arsenal last on minus 4"

So are these 6 clubs going to get some form of punishment ? Will the Premier league and FA let these cunts get away with it ? I bet if they do it won't be a deduction of points it will be a few bob in fines hopefully I'm wrong.

Maybe the Faint-hearted Fourteen are also in deep financial shit and they can see a path out of their own predicament should this happen.

"Very disappointed the PL haven’t charged these clubs yet, if nothing happens it just proves the greedy 6 are still holding the cards!"

Heard on talk sport earlier to watch a premier league game in China costs about a quid. If that's right bloody hell we get ripped off.

"From Yahoo Finance - I haven’t verified the math, but impressive... JP Morgan was lined up to be the main financier of the Super League, promising to write a 23-year loan worth over €3bn (£2.6bn, $3.6bn) to fund the creation of the competition. Back of the envelope calculations suggest the blockbuster deal would have netted the bank around £2m a week over the life of the loan. Experts said it would have been one of the biggest sports financing deals in history"

"It probably needs the money lenders to start calling in/not rolling over some of these debts to make a difference. Maybe there's a sniff of that happening if covid don't fuck off pretty sharpish, so those with first wind are trying to pull in the cash."

Guillem Balague has just said on 5 live that Barca fans don't have football embedded in their culture like us Brits do. Stating that the love their Presidents and as long they are succesful don't care how they do it. I beg to differ. I've met many Barca fans and other spanish footie fans . It is part of their culture and up bringing. The difference is that Barca are so heavily i debt that they will have to change what they spend. Fans won't like that as they won't be able to pay for the next Messi but they still care about their community and club

"Gundogan of Man City has just tweeted this: With all the Super League stuff going on... can we please also speak about the new Champions League format? More and more and more games, is no one thinking about us players? The new UCL format is just the lesser of the two evils in comparison to the Super League..."

Turns out the clubs that have pulled out have to pay an eight million pound penalty fee to Florentino P?©rez. Eighty million quid he'll have raked in for three days work. Not bad going!

"We need a sponsor that has a footprint in all seven continents if we are going to step up - a brand that everybody identifies as reliable and trustworthy. Who will that be? Search me! The only companies I can think of are airlines, car/car part manufacturers, hotel chains, car hire companies, fast food enterprises and franchises such as 7/11."

"Some of these fans protesting are just jumping on the band wagon. Ok they payed they their part but the ESL was condemed from all quarters. Its like the Man utd fans they deluded if they think things will return like the days under Ferguson.Fair enough the Glazers are a slimey bunch who bought the club on borrowed money and put them in to a masive debt. Like Simon Jordon said on Talk Sport recently, Man utd wont dominate like they used to as other clubs have have as much money if not more than them We all moan about our owners not speding their own money.me included, but how many of the top 6 ciubs do. Man utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs dont.Man city and Chelsea certainly have albeit the billion Abramovic has spent is supposedly a loan, interest free of course. However, what these top club do is generate masive revenues. If we dont, one day end up with owners like Everton, who seem to have have money to burn, which is is unlikely, we will need challenge like this season and hope fully to get European football on regular basis thats how spurs broke into the top six I'm afraid. We may also have to increase our season ticket prices increase our revenue from sponsorship and branding ,again difficult unless we own the stadium. Or is there another way."
