"I have TERRIBLE memories of this fucking cup, as do most of us, but try and beat mine (you probably can't unless you are the poor cսnt who got a dart stuck in his head at the replay final who was standing there at Villa park as they ('the best fans in the world ' chucked their two pences left over from the dole and darts nicked from their local at us through the net). I was about 15 and up for clumping one or two of them outside after with a bunch of West Ham intent on doing the same. Because I looked different to most West Ham in my bondage trousers bought from Sex (Malcolm McLaren and Vivian Westwood's shop in the Kings Rd that I had saved up for and gallingly recently saw in the V&A- how much would they be worth now)? and a West Ham shirt the old bill grabbed me and handcuffed me to a lamp post and watched laughing as just about every Mickey gave me a kick up the arse! I couldn't sit down for a week!"

"I find these games to be irritating, they are games for players who are not in the managers first team plans to get a run out, bully for them! And what if they impress will they be in for Saturday? No, of course not. As for ''our best chance of being in Europe next season' I disagree. We would have to beat Liverpool or Man City to win this, not to mention Arsenal and Man Utd, couple that with the fact that we have never won this comp in our entire history. We essentially have next to no chance of winning this."

It’s time Cornet started. Keep Cresswell out at all costs.

"Can't believe that some don't know the u21's beat Bristol Rovers last week. Much the same level as Lincoln. We should play a similar line up. Attack them but I feel Moyes will think a draw will see us through. The likes of Ings and Ogbonna have had enough game time already so no need for them to start. Cornet,Mubama and Mavropanos have to start, probably Kudus,Coventry and Johnson too. Anang Casey Mavropanos Johnson Chesters Coventry Soucek Scarles Kouda Mubama Cornet Subs Fabianski,Kehrer,Ogbonna,Laing,Fornals,Kudus,Benrhama,Ings,Marshall. Need to attack this lot,let them chase around and tire themselves out."

The natural centre back paring will be Mavro on the left and Aguerd right. Cresswell as Captain for this one.

"Need to show some caution with blooding youngsters. Give them minutes, for sure, but needs finessing. Teams like Lincoln will play their ‘full strength’ team on a mission to take a scalp. Although leagues lower, even at that level they’ll be no complete mugs. Hardened, motivated and playing, for some, the highlight of their careers. Some youngsters may find the physical battle a challenge. So, caution, please. We want to go deep in these cup competitions."

"I can only think Mubama didn't come on because of the situation on pitch at the time. Probably would have, had we been leading comfortably at that point. Fully understand bringing antonio on instead, given the circumstances."

the exile - that's all very well but we shouldn't be playing Ings ahead of Mubama or Marshall in a game like this... perhaps it could be justified if Ings plays WITH Mubama as you would like to think that Ings could teach him something playing alongside him but it will be very depressing if Moyes just plays Ings on his own up top! The U21s are playing some fantastic football at the moment and it needs to be recognised and rewarded. I notice that Mubama didn't even make the bench on Sunday so he's not playing for the U21 (okay I know he played against Celtic recently) or getting a look in at 1st team. Arguably Mubama offers more than Ings at the moment but we won't know if he's not given the chance. Obviously Moyes will go with Ings!

"Should ring the changes for this one and rotate the squad. They are very mid table league 1 and not in particularly good form. Whatever we have should be enough to get past them. Load the bench just in case it doesn't go as planned from the off, but there should be a lot of minutes for people who aren't currently getting them."

"Given that we've got a lot of squad players who are not PL starters I would be very surprised if Moyes starts with any of the youths except for Mubama, who might not even get a start because Ings needs minutes too. Two or three of them on the bench though and hopefully we're secure enough to bring them on for 20 minutes. Fabianski Kehrer Dinos Ogbonna Johnson Coventry Soucek Fornals Kudus Ings Benrahma"

"Give some of the youngsters a chance plus Kudus, Benrahma and the greek defender all of who had a great game in the Euro match but were dropped Saturday!! Not much point in having a better squad than last season if moyes doesn't put the best side out and actually goes for a win, will be very interesting to see who/how he plays against Sheffield United??"
