Winter '25/26 Transfer Rumours Thread

Post stubbo-admin »

Well seems like with all these international breaks, and us languishing, the rumours of ins and outs are rife.

Chuck anything 'worthy' of discussion on this thread...

We all know that our club is a shockingly run in every measurable indicator but there are plenty on here who have Stockholm Syndrome and continue to make excuses for the ownership by blaming the coach. Now it's poor Nuno's turn to perform alchemy and create gold out of a bucket of shit.

We have only one senior striker who is on a pay as you go contact. He simply isn't fit enough to last one half of football never mind 60 odd minutes. That ain't his fault it's the stupid fuckers who signed him. We should have 2 first choice strikers capable of scoring 12 goals each a season. I'm not talking about Mbappe or Isak or even Harry fucking Kane it shouldn't be beyond a club of our resources to identify a couple of players with a bit of youth on their side to be able to achieve that aim.

We are the worst run club in the Premiership by quite some margin  - some might point to Wolves but at least when they were flush with money somebody they had a habit of identifying the right players. Now the money has gone they have had to sell anything that wasn't nailed to the floor because their Chinese owner isn't prepared to subsidise it anymore.

How can you sign 4 centre halfs and (the departed Aguerd included) for £125 million and every last one of them struggles to post a 5/6 out of 10 in most of the matches they play?

James Ward Prowse - scores as many direct free kicks as Beckham in his career and as soon as we sign him the only thing the blokes good at turns to crap.

Stockholm Syndrome - I'm telling ya!

Mate, I used to think West Ham fans in general were a bit clued up and it was just Sullivan. But some of the comments now, and the YT guys.. I’m like bloody hell you people are insane. I agree with everything you said.
1 fucking 34 yr old striker with a crazy injury record is meant to last 13 games! We’ve got a game in 2 days, is he meant to do 90 there as well?

we allowed the last manager to bomb out players who are starting CL games for Marseille!
Yet the fans think it’s just Nuno’s tactics and if we go all
out attack we’ll be fine. Some of them wanted Ange ffs! Look at what happened to ange at Forest?
this is a serious league. People need to have serious ideas.
Sorry, but you're talking garbage, and as usual have proper weird opinions.

Firstly, no one is saying flog the 33 (he's still 33 FYI) striker in every game. But for fuck sake, at least start him in must win winnable home games, he's barely starting him at all. Every time Wilson is on the pitch, we look a miles better team and at least some sort of goal threat. What is he saving him for? Next season's Championship campaign?

Secondly, no one is saying go all out attack, all the time. However, you don't seem to have noticed, but we are getting further and further away from the teams just above us, we're now 3 wins away from Leeds, by playing this no striker/no attack 11, we've only won 3 fucking games all season. We could've dragged Fulham right into it by beating them, and yes, I am saying we should be going all out attack to beat them cunts at home, yet he starts the game with 4 central midfielders, and no striker yet again, a selection that has seen us not win a fucking game yet?

Your 'serious ideas' include not worrying about picking up points, which you said on here a couple of weeks ago. Bravo, that's what we've gone on to do, and what do you know, we're 5 points away from getting out of the bottom 3, and once again, I'll remind you, we've only won 3 games all season, we can't afford to just wait for the transfer window and see what happens, that's stupid talk.

If this magic transfer window you're expecting goes to plan and we'll have no problems whatsoever staying up, why not, up until then, actually try to beat fucking Fulham at home by attacking them, instead of packing the midfield and limply losing yet again?

Teams down the bottom don't go on crazy runs like they used to, we are not going to go unbeaten for 10 games, regardless of who we sign. So we need to be picking up points now, and a home game against Fulham is one of the most winnable we'll have all season. To not start our only striker was criminal, you have to be an absolute idiot to suggest anything else.

I don’t agree with not starting Wilson. But I UNDERSTAND why.
He’s obviously trying to manage the situation. On one hand you want the team to learn how to play with what they have. You literally have one joker in the pack (Wilson) to get you out of trouble. So I just think he’s tried to balance it out using him sporadically so he doesn’t break him.

what people do with stats is cherry pick to make a point. Yes he has had 2 wins but he’s drawn quite a few. It’s not like he’s been miles off results in every game. The other day we lost from a goal that would have been disallowed. Yesterday it was bad kick from our left back. People are making out like we’re getting run through by teams. Villa who are a few points off the top managed to beat us with a crazy goal from way out.

my point is when you watch the games we aren’t that far away from getting results. We are a balanced team without cutting edge. I don’t see any coach getting much more out of this side that Nuno has.

It’s hilarious with Wilson as well. The player most of us didn’t want at all. Is now the key player that you think would be saving our season. Ironic really.

I meant to also say, in Nuno's only 2 wins, Wilson started both games. It's fucking mental he didn't start him yesterday, absolutely insane decision.

the stats tell the story. We fluffed our big chances and they got lucky because our junior left back fluffed a kick.

we play far better football than under any manager I’ve seen here in the last 3-4 yrs (and yes that includes Moyes).

the problem is our squad is decimated. I just think our fans are fantasists sometimes. Yeah I have a problem with Wilson not starting but at the same time I’m also aware that he’d been out injured for a year and is on a pay as you play contract. We have no real replacement for him so we cannot train and build a strategy around a player that isn’t going to last 90 every game.

thw reality is we didn’t lose because Wilson wasn’t on the pitch. We lose because Bowen and Summerville are not finishing their chances. If our wide forwards and no.10 (Paq) did their jobs we’d be ok. So we have to get 3 new attackers in the window. And we will win our games.

getting another manager in with the squad we have after all the work that’s been put in to blood youngsters in and change our style is absolutely deranged.
(this is the first functioning midfield I have seen in about 4yrs that you can’t just run through).

give him a fucking window an back him. We gave Pother two windows and kept with him and I never saw anything positive). This guys had like 3 months and taken over a bottom 3 club. It’s nuts how our club and fans are sometimes. I don’t get it.

I think every Prem club has sold or is selling their women's team as the promotion of the women's game has failed. They are selling at the peak, that's all.

He's not. It's Sullivan's stooges throwing around names at Sullivan's bequest. Carrick will be next.

The real scoop is Nuno's gone as soon as/if Frank gets sacked.

Thomas Frank? Here?
Honestly, Frank isn’t any better than Nuno is he? There all good managers if they have time and a good squad and don’t have fans breathing down their neck every ten seconds.

We can’t change the manager again. We just can’t. Let him have his window. Let’s asses at the end of the season. There isn’t a manager on earth that can save our team with that decimated squad. We all know that. The task was just trying to crawl to the Jan window to get more firepower and improve the basics in the team. I think he’s done that in my opinion. I like how we play, I like the improvements in the midfield and defence to Todibo and even Kilman is much better. He’s actually playing youngsters and not as a token gesture. Let’s not throw that away. It’s something to build on.

Dawson is out of contract,i would offer him a six month deal and tell him to work from home because he can't live down south.

He can train locally just be available for match days they can go over tactics via Teams daily,
he would be the best centre back at the club a natural leader i would make captain.

I've definitely been on the side of backing this manager, I can see a lot of good things about him, and were we not in the situation we're in, and were mid table when he took over, I think he'd turn us into a good solid team. I've also given him a bit of leeway with some of the mad decisions he's made.

However, you simply cannot defend the decision not to start with Wilson yesterday. We are running out of time, we are getting further away from the teams above us, we are playing fucking Fulham at home, you have to try to win that game at all costs. The time for just trying to be 'solid' has gone, games like that have to be identified and attacked.

I've been a Paqueta advocate, but he has been fucking abysmal this season, to play him yesterday, and not play a striker who, albeit 33, is still clearly a massive goal threat for an hour, was criminal. We need to win games FFS, we've got to essentially win half the games we've got left, if you go out with the intention of getting a point at home to Fulham, you deserve to go down.

If he doesn't start him in the next game, and we don't win, we've got to sack him. You can't sleepwalk to relegation just because he took over a shit situation, and he's improved some players. We need to stay up because of that cuntbowl stadium, if he keeps playing it safe, we'll go down without a whimper.

Exactly.

Apathy rules. The club is sleep walking to the championship. People are caring less and less.

The only amusing part is watching Sullivan destroy his most valuable asset. Fuck him and fuck the club.

I believe they’ve sold the ladies team to a 3rd party to cover some of the losses.

We are about to post a £100 million loss in the accounts. Not good when you need to buy 4 or 5 quality players able to play PL level footie to even have a small chance of winning 9 games from 19. Add that to that the fact that the owner’s vision barely gets past the end of his pug  nose. He doesnt know what or where he wants the club to be or where he wants it go in terms of the way it will play, who to recruit to get there etc. He doesnt think about that when recruiting managers let alone players. Iust whos cheapest, out of work, will accept Sullivan vetoing anything he wants.

We need to “sh*t a miracle” so basically we are down

Who cares anymore?

We need so many players to even have the slightest hope to avoid relegation, it's just unfunny. Sullivan is rapidly making the club worth 1£

Getting players in that would make a difference in the first week of the window. Absoltely no chance.

5 points with 20 games to go incl. a head to head.

Who'd come? People looking for a chance to play, people on the promise of a big survival bonus etc.

It's up to the owners to get the right people in. And on time.

Obviously, that's breaking the habit of a lifetime, so not holding out much hope, but it depends how much their arses are squeaking at the thought of £400m-£500m being lopped off the value of their 'asset'.

None of this should be a surprise to them.

Fuck off! Sounds like a peak Sulley special signing in January whenever I've heard one. 😆
